Not understanding the concerns about Terminators in the new Codex.

I get the point about cost, they are expensive. They are also durable, move 7 inches, get rerolls to charge and have Rapid Fire on their bolters.

10 Berzerkers in a Rhino will outperform them in melee, so will 3 Eightbound. But it seems like they're here to do a different job, which be hard to kill and take objectives.

I have 10 and I have always used them. I much prefer the new rules for them instead of the one that required them to be hurt to actually work.  I do use them mainly for their durability. These ones I modeled up as Red Butchers so are pretty much all armed with Accursed Weapons, so lack a heavy melee punch against higher toughness targets. I'm building some powerfist terminators soon to cover that gap.

Now the new rules make me happy, they can deep strike and a 5 man squad can be putting out 24 bolter shots and the autocannon getting 8 I believe.

The really infuriating thing is that they didn’t give us a Lord on foot datasheet to run with the amazing new model.

As for Termies, I will try DSing a unit of 5 with 4x combi-bolters and reaper for laughs. Time to show those stuck up blue skins the new kings of the shooting phase.

I was initially disappointed at the loss of blood fury, but M7 and tons of rapid fire shots can make for good chaff clear / objective grabbers, at least playing casually.

I don't understand why they won't give us access to the CSM terminator lord. It's ridiculous that we don't have any character that can be attached to a terminator squad and  it's not like a TDA lord would make them busted.

It's because GW doesn't make a World Eaters Lord in Terminator Armor. It's the same reason Death Guard lost theirs and their Sorcerer.

Do the equivalent points of Berserker Marines (that'd be 10 basically) actually outperform Terminators? Consider the fact that Terminators have shooting outside 12", and ridiculous shooting in that range. Assuming you took one dude with Lightning Claws, the unit spits out 18 Bolter shots and 6 Reaper shots in Rapid Fire range, which then gets supplemented by the fact they're really not BS4+ because rerolls (which really pumps up the Reaper in particular). Top that off with Rapid Ingress and a built in reroll to charges, and they essentially pick their targets and fight first.

My Azrakh the Annihilator model, that I can't use in a game of 40k because he doesn't have a datasheet, begs to differ.

Use him as a unit champion, it’s what I do. He’s also a limited edition model that is not available any longer.

Not saying I don’t want a Termie Lord, I do, and I wish we had the sheet, but you can absolutely still use the Azrakh model in games. It actually helps as otherwise the Termies all look the same, and it’s unclear to your opponent which one is the champion without conversions.
