A while back I got myself this very nice little 80s Techmarine. I finally got round to painting him, and I'm pretty satisfied with how he came out!

Over a white primer (I really should have primed him black but, oh well) I basecoated the armour with Ammo of Mig's Red Brown Shadow before highlighting with Rotbraun and then Army Painter Fanatic's Burning Ore (and plenty of blending between those stages). The rest of the model was mostly done with AP, though some Scale75's metallics and Ammo of Mig's Polished Tracks were used too, along with very sparing use of Citadel washes. I also tried out a very old technique in the form of "lining in", applying black directly to the recesses to shade. It actually works quite well.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with him; I might touch up the base a bit, and I'm tempted to give him a coat of matte varnish, but the paintjob itself I think came out fantastically. I love this sculpt, it's nicely detailed without being excessively visually noisy.
