The battle of Rophen IX is a narrative event that is taking place on my channel, where a wealthy system once ruled by a council of ancient houses has been deposed and with the assistance of Xenos mercenaries declared itself independent. This does not go well as the world quickly descends into open warfare. A once profitable production world has been devastated by open warfare, criminal elements take advantage of the chaos to reap massive profits, unaligned forces conduct lightening raids for supplies, slaves, and some simply kill.

In the scorching wind bitten equatorial deserts, a colossal grav train races across the flat featureless landscape.  Conducting small arms munitions from factories nestled deep in the sweltering jungles to the south to transfer depots north of the argentium gap it is a tempting target for potential thieves.

For the Bloody Maw it is more than that, it is their continued survival. Reeling from the disaster at Prospero the astartes of the VIth mount a daring high-speed heist onto the moving target.

Each member of the community who is taking part was tasked with creating a 500pt army with a backstory and motivations for their presence on the world.

So here is my force the Bloody Maw.

An esoterist, and moritat in command.

A unit of apothacaries

2 assault squads

and finally a unit of assault destroyers.

Those wolfy helmets are quite the nod to the old 2nd Ed models, aren't they?

honestly when they first got announced i hated them and cheered when they got axed so quickly, when i ordered some for this project it was on a whim as i thought it might make the destroyers look interesting and as i started painting them they grew on my pretty quickly.
