I don't think Enlightened or the Shaman have ever showed up in a discount box, so it's actually giving owners of the old CP and the new Army box a new avenue to expand without just more of the base infantry.

 

I actually love the CP, but my interest in TS has waned in in favor of Tzeentch align CSM, and I already own a Daemon Prince

I want to say the Shaman was in Hexfire, but I could be misremembering.

Don't think I've seen them much discussed over here, and probably only a day or two before it's irrelevant as the preview article goes up, but over on Dakka, Demontalons posted these rumours:

 

Fresh leaks (take with salt etc etc)

Tson Leaks(Semi Verified)
Army rule
4 spells, doombolt, double move, full rerolls against a unit, and unkown
Any psyker may cast
2d6 or take d3 to get 3d6 on the cast
Once succeeded a spell can’t be used until next turn

Magnus is +2 to cast, supposedly nerfed but cheaper

I have no idea where that GIF is in the thread, so I'm not sure why it's the Thumbnail.

What we were able to confirm this weekend:

  1. The leaked info in the tactical tortoise video (pastebin) is mostly very accurate
  2. You only take MWs on the new army rule if you use the 3D6 option
  3. All "Inferno" weapons have received an AP increase - so, bolters are now AP-2
  4. The new Icon of Flame does indeed ingore cover. This is redundant with Warpflamers
  5. For the Vehicle Detachment - you get to re-roll a single hit, wound, or damage roll. If a psyker is within 6" you can re-roll a hit, wound, and damage roll (one of each vs just one)
  6. Forgefiend: Plasma is D3 shots, S10, AP-3, 3D. Autocannon is 6 Shots, S8, AP-2, 2D - retain the "supress" rule it has today
  7. Mutalith: Retains the same shooting profiles it has today; Big claws are damage 3 now (down from 4); grants +1 to cast for cabals; retains the mortal wound & battleshock aura; Still hits on 3s
  8. Helbrute: +2 Attacks if it has 2x Melee weapons; Anything he shoots takes a BS test. The BS test is at -1 if a psyker is within 6"
  9. Rubric Marines: Retain their re-roll wounds rule as it exists today. have not been split into 2 data sheets. Aspiring Sorcerer is now 3W; SRC possible range increase (not verified)
  10. Scarab Occult Terminators: Aspiring Sorcerer is now 4w; Can be taken in units of 5/10; -1 to wound all the time now
  11. Sehketar Robots: Infiltrate, T6, 4W, 3+/5++; Flamer Claw has a "baby" flamer (D3) shots. Claw is 3A, AP-2, 2D; Loadouts are very restricted ie: you cannot take 2x meltas. Codex states 145pts for 2 of them - but the TT rumor for MFM is that its 80pts. Can OW for free; Can Heroic for free.
  12. Chaos Spawns: Now heal for 3 in each command phase (not D3); otherwise unchanged
  13. Ahriman: only able to be run on Disc now; +1 cast, re-deploy 3 units; Ahriman on foot is gone. Attack profile unchanged
  14. Cultists: are gone
  15. Daemon Prince with Wings: Loses uppy/downy; gains 6" deep strike but cannot charge. Gains sustained D3 for psychic attacks (but you can't charge); Big profile on sword now has DEV; Shooting profile is now Psychic 9 shots, S4, Ap1, 1d, Ignores Cover; Re-rolls all hits and wounds vs character units; Re-rolls 1s to hit and wound vs Character models; Kill a character, heal D3 wounds
  16. Daemon Prince on Foot: Gains Lone Op if within 3" of infantry unit; Retains the Stealth aura but only for nearby Infantry units; If a psyker dies within 9", he can eat their sould to gain +1 cast (to a max of +2) for rest of game.
  17. Tzaangor Enlightened: Split into profiles for Spears and Bows - still capped at 6. Now 5++. Bow Enlightened retain the reactive move. Bows are 2 Shots, BS4+, S5, -2, D2, Ignore Cover, Lethal, Precision. Spear Enlightened do MWs on the charge; Spears are 3A, WS4+, S5, AP-1, 2D, Lance, Precision.
  18. Defilers: Now overwatch on 4+, gain a 6+++
  19. Infernal Master: Keeps his "Flip to a 6" ability and same shooting profile. Unsure on leader ability.

I am going to post the information which has been "confirmed" by the TS Discord owner. It is a copy/paste so the Mods have to approve it. This is as close as a leak as we can get without pictures. Anything previously is smoke and mirrors or dubious (unless it is listed here). 

 

We'll see in about 12 hours if any of this is true :)

I don´t like that our armyrule can fail. I don´t know any other army that has rules that can fail them (help me if I´m wrong) and even cause damage (1d3 mortal if we boost spells, and it can still fail). Guess it´s just something to deal with but sad to see GW chose that road. I liked our cabal points and that it workted when you needed it.

The original version of the Space Wolves sagas rule had the same problem. It was quite possible for the Army rule to fail to kick in if a canny opponent denied you opportunities to fulfil your Sagas. GW fixed that and so Space Wolves see some play now. I guess GW will wait and see if the rules work in the field.

I mean a lot of TSons players have been asking for actual Psychic back and this is actual Psychic back, chance to fail and all.
Also unlike the SW army rule it's not like the opponent can actually deny your spells anymore.

Having to take a test to use an ability is ok as long as the juice is worth the squeeze and the tradeoff is balanced. It becomes annoying when other factions get the same exact bonus without a test. But I suppose in this regard the tradeoff for taking a test is that it is an open utility belt for any psyker to use at any time. Instead of certain abilities being locked behind certain units. Need to see the codex to make a final determination. 

Man, that icon of flame being redundant on flamer squads is annoying if true. 

I geuss the Spanish thousand sons points leaked into the wild this morning.

If I'm reading the awful to parse Imgur images correctly then the Icon of Flame is still useful on a Flamer Squad since it gives Ignore Cover to the Aspiring Sorc's Magic Gun (and a Soulreaper if you have one for Standoff range shooting).

 

Also, as expected it looks like Plasma Pistols have been lost to the Warp.

Guess I'm using those as Fancy Inferno Bolt Pistols now.

I have only just noticed this, but the Aspiring Sorc and SoT Sorc both got +1 Wound over the rest of the unit, along with 6+ Leadership rather than 7+.

The wound is a nice little bonus, but the real star of the show is the Bolter Rubrics. Still not as good as Flamers but at least they aren't crap now. The Rubric detachment as a whole looks pretty darn good, though I wish it had access to the one Enhancement from the Index to buff the Infernal Master's shooting. 

That's not a bad combat patrol but it is a shame it is more Tzaangors. Nothing wrong with them per se but GW does seem to force them onto TS somewhat. 

 

The cynic in me says a DP in two Combat Patrols means the bean counters have decided too many are sitting in the warehouse. I doubt GW has included it because its an awesome model and they want more people to experience it. Or maybe I'm just grumpy.
