That's not a bad combat patrol but it is a shame it is more Tzaangors. Nothing wrong with them per se but GW does seem to force them onto TS somewhat.

The cynic in me says a DP in two Combat Patrols means the bean counters have decided too many are sitting in the warehouse. I doubt GW has included it because its an awesome model and they want more people to experience it. Or maybe I'm just grumpy.

The DP are printed especially for the combat patrols (far cheaper to do it that way) same with all the battleforces, it saves them having to pay someone to repackage things

The closest-to-making-sense speculation that I've seen is that each mould has an expected "use" number, to have not been considered a mistake/waste of money.

And thus poorer selling kits (which don't otherwise need their moulds used for additional production runs) get included in box sets to basically get those moulds some reps, so that they can be checked off internally for meeting expectations.

Not a big thing, but Terminator Sorcerers lost the ability to take a khopesh. The Aspiring Sorcerers in the Scarab units still can, but not the character version. It's not a huge thing, but it is kind of odd because the studio kitbash is modelled like that. The model picture in the Codex actually cuts off right before the khopesh arm on the model.

Now that makes sense,  a recoup on investment.

While I'm here, this article was posted over on WarCom, showing the new automata off. Quite a few good dioramas here. Especially like the one featuring the soon to be ex-living votan. Some good colour schemes used as well.

My favourite one is also the one with the Votann. (Funnily, the automata has an illegal loadout. I really do think they'd look even better with dual claws, but that's not allowed either.)

I don´t like that our armyrule can fail. I don´t know any other army that has rules that can fail them (help me if I´m wrong) and even cause damage (1d3 mortal if we boost spells, and it can still fail). Guess it´s just something to deal with but sad to see GW chose that road. I liked our cabal points and that it workted when you needed it.

IG units straight up can't use their army rule if they are battleshocked.  I think the game would be better if there were more of these "fail states" as it introduces wrinkles and keeps things a bit more balanced, without absolutely crippling a force. I think IG's is probably the harshest of the punishment style rules as it can REALLY hurt a unit that needs an order. Take a few wounds for most TSons isn't that big of a deal, as the offensive power sticks unless the unit dies and that's a calculation\gamble that has a lot of Player adjacency.

Of note, the second image in there has the cannon arm kitbashed to be an elbow mount rather than a shoulder mount. I know that particular conversion has been of interest to folks here and over on Reddit, so it's nice to see a proof of concept from an early access hobbyist.

Managed to Pre-Order the Codex, but the Dice Pre-Order sold out near instantly which is a pain since my local GW Store don't know if they're gonna get any of the dice in as stock once the TSons Stuff is fully released.
