Chaos - Guard.png

Greetings Generals, Warlords, Nobles, Priests, Champions and Others Favoured by the Warp

Call to Arms is back this year, but I'm running it for @Grotsmasha.  For those new to B&C or simply unaware, Call to Arms is a Forum wide event that this year runs from June 15th until September 15th!

The forum is split up into 5 Strongholds: Imperium, loyal Astartes (which is new this year), Chaos, Xenos and Heresy with all 5 factions competing against one another to paint the most in the 3 months time limit. There will be a Central hub thread for each of the Strongholds in the Work in Progress section of the Forge forum which will be linked once it's live. We can use thread to cross post in and track/give motivation to those participating.  For those of you familiar with previous Call to Arms events, the rules are exactly the same this year except for loyal Astartes being their own stronghold.

Check out the full rules here

If you've got any questions, give me or one of the Mods a shout!

I guess there are few ways of looking at it.

The first is how do you think you would field it - would you use them using the mortal units in the CSM codex plus assorted vehicles?  If so,, this is the right place.  Or do you think you would use the genestealer cultists rules?  If so, GSC would be the right place.

The second is what makes the best connection to your background?  This is how it is permissible to post traitor guard armies using the AM/IG rules here, and vow them from here.  Is it due to skaven's chaotic nature and/or their use of chaos forces?  If so, here seems right.  Or does the "out of the warrens uprising" vibe of GSC work better?

So I think either of here or GSC works for your "home" for this army, depending on where you put the focus of your army.  Anyway, let me know your thoughts.

My intention is that they are a chaos force from a background perspective, and since they don't have rules, they might even fall under

Any models that fall outside of the Strongholds, such as Necromunda, Blackstone Fortress, terrain, etc, may be pledged to ANY Stronghold.

I am unsure if I intend to run them using any existing ruleset, to be honest, but traitor guard definitely seems the closest parallel, regardless of what they end up being mechanically.

End Date: 15th September

Here is a more detailed list of points per model specifically for the Realm of Chaos

All points are per model. For example if you pledge 20 Traitor Guard(1ptx20), 3 Heavy Weapons Teams (2ptsx3), a Leman Russ (5pts), and a Traitor Commissar (5pts), your vow would be worth 36pts

Here is what I'll be pledging as my Lost & the Damned Traitor Guard pledge:

A handful of Nostroman 9th Traitor Guard troopers and a Nostroman 9th "heavy stalk tank" (a Rogal Dorn-Defiler kitbash, counts as Defiler)

I can't wait to see how your Dornfiler turns out!  If my experience on my own Russfiler is relevant, you should get working on that conversion ASAP as it will likely take some work.

My own vows are going to be all EC this year.

* ALL STRONGHOLDS ARE NOW OPEN, YOU CAN NOW MAKE YOUR VOWS *

Happy painting!  Be sure to cheer on your fellow stronghold participants!

As a reminder, all vows must be completed by September 15th.

I will no longer be monitoring these threads in the faction forums - if you have any questions, please ask me in the Strongholds or @Dr_Ruminahui

22 minutes ago, Bonehead said:

Building terrain for a game until early July. Then I'll probably pledge a bunch of traitor gaurd.

Sounds good.  If you are painting the terrain, you can pledge it too, even without any actual traitor guard models yet.

Well then, I will.

I Bonehead, being, as far as anyone here is legally going to be able to prove, of sound mind and majority, officially pledge to finish building, wiring and painting this here large scratchbuilt storage facility/refinery section piece. I also pledge to build, wire and paint not less than two adjoining gantry/catwalk pieces with connectable modular lighting.

I will admit that since you said that I could pledge it it's moved on a touch, but it's still extremely unfinished due to all the textured plasticard I ordered not being here yet.

I did paint a few bits of it already, but purely because they're going to be completely unreachable by anyone larger than a mouse once the thing is finished.

This is the rough shape of it as of this weekend:

How much have you already painted?  Really, for the purpose of the event its better for you to not paint any of it and just leave it unassembled enough to get to the bits that will become inaccessible.

Other than that possible issue, it looks fine, but you'll need to go vow it in the Chaos stronghold in the WIP section.
