=] EVENT: Call to Arms 2025: Astra Militarum [=

Greetings Lords, Ladies, Commanders, Commissars, and Soldiers of the Imperium of Mankind. 

 

 

Call to Arms is back this year, but @Dr_Ruminahui will be running it for @Grotsmasha.  For those new to B&C or simply unaware, Call to Arms is a Forum wide event that this year runs from June 15th until September 15th!

 

The forum is split up into 5 Strongholds: Imperium, loyal Astartes (which is new this year), Chaos, Xenos and Heresy with all 5 factions competing against one another to paint the most in the 3 months time limit. There will be a Central hub thread for each of the Strongholds in the Work in Progress section of the Forge forum which will be linked once it's live. We can use thread to cross post in and track/give motivation to those participating.  For those of you familiar with previous Call to Arms events, the rules are exactly the same this year except for loyal Astartes being their own stronghold.

Note: Custom/Scratchbuilt terrain- use this list as a guide as to how many points tour terrain is worth, but please make sure to mention your terrain is custom when Vowing.

 

 

All points are per model. For example if you pledge 20 Guardsmen(1ptx20), 3 Rough Riders (2ptsx3), Sentinal (3pts), and a Commissar (5pts), your vow would be worth 34pts

Starting a new Krieg themed army, here is my pledge:

I, Razurok, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint 20x Death Riders, 10x Krieg Engineers, 20x Krieg Infantry for 71 points for the Glory of the Death Korps of Krieg and the Imperium Stronghold on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

 

For the Emperor!!

Sounds good, @Razurok - but you'll need to post photos of the various models in their unpainted state before you start painting them.  So, if you are building as you go along, just go back and edit your post when you finish building a unit and before you put any paint on it.

 

I'm assuming you are painting the little non-model based doodads that come with the kits?  So, the grenadier bomb drones and the command squad servo skull scrolls?  IF so, I'll give you a 1/2 point for each of those.

 

50 infrantry x 1 pnt ea. =                                          50

30 riders x 2 pnts ea =                                              60

20 engineers x 1 pnt ea =                                         20

4 engineer bomb drones x 1/2 pnt ea =                     2

2x command squads x 5 models x 1 pnt eac =         10

2x Lord Commissars x 5 pnts ea =                             10

2x servos skull scrolls x 1/2 pnt ea=                             1

3x squads heavy weapons x 3 models x 3 pnts ea =  27

3x heavy weapon spotters x 1 pnt ea =                        3

Total                                                                           183 points

Ok sounds good, I’ll edit it accordingly later then. Not sure if this will disqualify for some of the units but I already have 10x death riders + 1x Lord Dreir primed.

Priming is fine, any paint beyond that is not.  So if they are just primed, you're good.  Lord Dreir?

@Dr_Ruminahui Lord Dreir is the Death Rider Special character. Basically a mounted character.

He didn't list him in his vow, though, which made me curious.  @Razurok, is Lord Drier part of your call to arms vow?  If so, is he counted in the 20 death riders or in addition to?  Anyway, if he is vowed, he's worth 10 points.

 

Incidentally, you need to paint everything in your vow by September 15 to have any of it count - so if you have doubts getting through all that in time (I definitely couldn't) you might want to break it down into a smaller vow and start with that, and add other vows (you get 3 + 1 of a model 10 pnts or more in value) as you feel you can complete as you finish your previous vow(s).

I updated my pledge and went for a smaller vow, totaling 71 points. I edited my original post with pictures of the units. Excited for this challenge!
