Matcap86
Saw this drop in email and really like the look of it. Siege of Terra and titans clashing. Looks pretty great in my opinion! Shovellovin
That looks awesome! Is it being made by the same people that made Angels of Death & Helsreach? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385898-kill-lupercal-trailer/#findComment-6109783 Share on other sites

Valkyrion
Is there not a trick being missed here @ 52 seconds with Titans - traitor titans - Legio Mortis - Dies Irae - massive choral rendition of Dies Irae from Mozart's Requiem Mass? Alby the Slayer
Warhammer+ animations releases are so slow as we all know it. I just wish they use GW massive pile of money to support amazing creators and give us something, I don't know, at least every month? Even just a 20 min episode! I do love this trailer and it makes me want to do some AT project. Give us epic Machine God battles! Armchair Warlord
The 'wide shots' of the titans look great........... But the dialogue looks and sounds childish, vacuous and banal as with all of their productions. John French once wonderfully and superbly compared the Horus heresy storyline to a Shakespearian tragedy............ And it is, and can be when handled by such writers as himself, McNeill and ADB. Depth, shades of grey, empathy for the villain, doubt and distaste for for the hero. The HH novels have got these in spades - Why's the scripts for GW's animations so lacking these things I'm forced to ask. I'll stick to picking up the Warhammer + miniatures from ebay. I'm sorry for being so Salty - But I've worked in the film industry for 25 years!........ And I still vouch for 'Astartes' as being the best 30/40k animation ever made, And ever will be at this rate. I hope to be proved wrong!........ But I fear it won't be this year. Dorn of War
I watched the whole animation tonight. In my opinion it's a 10/10. Really captures the essence of Warhammer for me, the characters and atmosphere were spot on. Can't wait for the next episode. I do like the black library writers a lot (though no one book is as captivating as the 40K setting itself) but I actually think they’re at their weakest when they attempt to directly emulate Shakespeare, or Milton, or other “High Culture” canonical works like Greek tragedy etc. I always find the dialogue comes across as histrionic and hammy when genre trappings of Classical literature/Shakespearean tragedy are used in an earnest fashion. The archaisms, the endless anaphora, all make me cringe a bit. There’s a place for histrionic and hammy, it can be redeemed by knowing irony, slight tongue in cheekiness, and even by being contextualised within certain genres defined by excess and slight ludicrousness. But when it’s directly trying to be Shakespearean it has all the melodrama of a bad am dram Shakespeare production, it just feels pompous, pretentious even (a word I rarely, if ever use) because it is quite literarily trying to leverage through (inevitably poor) emulation the cultural capital of a man widely considered to be the worlds greatest writer.
