Necron Kill Team Speculation

It's not a very beefy rumour but in a video uploaded earlier today Valrak (about the 7 minute mark) said he's heard that there's a new Necron Kill Team on it's way though he didn't have any details.

With the idea that this would be all new kit and not an upgrade sprue I thought it might be fun to speculate on what it could be.

They could take the opportunity to revamp one of the older kits and I thought Triarch Praetorians would be a good fit, I could see them with a range of different equipment to make up different operatives and I'm sure there's lore reasons they could be out and about doing Kill Team type stuff.

The other thing they came to mind was that Kill Team might be a good place to bring back Pariahs. GW aren't afraid to bring back old units and ideas; Ambulls came back, Zoats came back, Squats came back in two different flavours so it doesn't seem impossible for Pariahs to return. Kill Team could be a good place to add them into the roster even before the 11th edition codex. 

What do you think we might see, what would you want to see?

Although I'd love a new new unit, I would prefer if they revamped an older one. 

 

I suppose a left of field unit could be an elite flayed one unit. They did the destroyer cults with the last big release. Why not start expanding the flayed ones.

If we're thinking of old kits, Destroyers got done with the exception of Lokhust Destroyers and Lords. The former kit still has green rods and the latter doesn't have a kit (which makes it truly amazing to me that we kept the unit into this edition). This would be an opportunity to resolve that, but I doubt we'll see a Lokhust kill team.

 

My bet is on Canoptek critters, maybe new or alternate Wraith models like how there's alternate Genestealers the came out a while back. Flayed Ones would also be nice to get alternate sculpts for do diversify their aesthetic. Could add in Xenos camouflage to their Human wardrobe.

Pariahs would be really exciting to me, but I can't say I expect it.

Flayed ones would potentially make for some really interesting sculpts.
