looks a lot like the Catachan colonel in terms of flak armour etc. if this design language is translated over into a kill team/new infantry squad I’ll be ecstatic.

Looks awesome. Rogue Trader is a fantastic game so it's great to see them doing another (especially so soon), and this is a theming that has a lot of potential for lots of really cool stuff being involved. Kroot companion is going to be interesting!

There was absolutely a night lord gunning down people while standing on a pile of what looked like corpses. Be interesting to see what comes from that.

Collector's edition looks to include an Inquisition rosette necklace and a novella written by ADB. Too expensive for me to justify it, but somebody'll find it neat.

ADB Novella you say?! *Stares hard at that $289*

As an aside, "The Night Lords Story" make me thing of the Canterbury Tales, which made me think of the movie "A Knight's Tale" at which I circled back around and now I need to see a 40K movie called "A Night Lord's Tale".

The games web is up for those interested in checking it, among other things it gives us more info about the 5 companions we see in the trailer.

Interestedly, the Kroot companion is described as a she, so as far as I'm aware this is the first look we get at a female Kroot, not like we would know since it looks like there's no real sexual dimorphism among the Kroot.

Btw, if OC follows a pattern similar to RT, we are going to get 5 more companions + 1/2 potential secret companions.

Also, since the preview post has been closed I will answer a comment that irked me in it.

A fellow brother called the design of the inquisitor lazy and compared it to a stormcast.

That's Anton Zerbe, your Lord Inquisitor boss from the OG Dark Heresy RPG and that's how he is supposed to look, he was an stormcast eternal before GW even thought about killing Fantasy.

Quite like the look of this, although not sure can afford it. It's a shame the art books aren't released separately as I'd definitely buy that!

Hah, I stand corrected. I replied to the post you talked about and theorised that it was a OwlCat design rather than a GW one. Didn't know this character even existed before. The more you know!

I see what you did there  .

For me this was the best news in this skullfest.

I don't know how soon this will be available but I still have to finish rogue trader (i'm exploring every bit of the kronus expanse) and with owlcats, to wait a little for their game to be properly "cooked" is never a mistake.

Yeah, Rogue Trader is a great game. I am now even running the TTRPG for my RPG group (thanks to a fortuitously-timed Humble Bundle I have all the adventures, so should be able to keep everyone occupied for a while).

I also picked up some of the Dark Heresy books as they give background on adjacent areas of space to the Koronus Expanse, so this game should be really interesting and have a different flavour and feel again to Rogue Trader. Interestingly, in the TTRPG, characters are scaled differently, but are still portable between the games. The digital versions are sufficiently different that I can't see that being the case, but it will be interesting to see how being an Inquisitorial agent pans out - lots of potential plot areas there.

Interesting article on what's coming as part of the game. Focus being on a single planet rather than a wider area is slightly disappointing, but it also means it can be a deep dive into the way one Imperial world works.

Also, the ability to just force enemies to surrender out of sheer terror is chefs kiss.

Yeah, I'm of the same mind. I've never played through the tabletop RPG itself, but I have read a fair bit of the background material in the DH rulebook and it's expansions. Theres enough material to draw upon in those books that i feel a one-planet focus could even be a *draw* of this game, by letting us see all the intricacies and peculiarities of one particular planet.

Yeah. While RT  had a wealth of locations to go to, which was very fitting for the subject, it did mean that a lot of locations were fairly simple one or a couple of maps. If focus on DH is investigations rather than discovering and accumulating wealth, it should allow to make a for a lot more 'depth' in locations rather than huge width of selections.

I wonder if that's where the stormcast inspiration comes from, with the mask on he looks very stormcasty:yes:
