Thankfully, that's what we have the modding community for - and the jump from 32bit to 64bit is going to open some incredible doors moving forward.

As a point of reference; look at Skyrim's jump from 32bit to 64bit. That game was already home to an impressive modding community to start with, but almost every major overhaul mod and / or major expansion of how the game operates was born out of or directly benefited in a massive way from the move to 64bit.

Understood, I also get they will need a return on investment, but if they charge a premium to essentially help modders out, then that sucks as a concept for the average Joe.

What an insult.

  • Badly AI-upscaled footage with visible artifacting in places.
  • In-game voice lines unnecessarily forced in in multiple places with terrible audio mixing.
  • Sergeant's inhuman scream replaced with god awful in-game voice line that doesn't sync to what he's doing.

Frankly, after the disaster that was Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition it's just not worth the risk at this stage. Relic has shown itself to be a downright incompetent studio year-on-year since Dawn of War III came out, and this is just... wrong, on so many levels.

Let's wait for the game play...but in my case I prefer the classic. You can't  perfect the perfection.

Anyway, the real important info is the date, launch info and discount, not the trailer.

Price is very important on this for me. I know retooling the engine to allow multithreading isn't nothing, but given the total lack of anything else of note included beyond some likely ai upscaled textures, it isn't worth more than £15 imo.

My inner cynic says low sales will be expected so a higher price tag will follow.

Weird, nobody reported on that and I  felt no compulsion to watch it lol

The initial announcement was back in may during the Skulls showcase. Easy to miss one of 20-ish announcement, especially with everyone being irate at the supremacy trailers immaculate presentation for what ended up being a mere phone game

Relic wasn't involved in the Space Marine Masterclass edition. That was Sega an outside studio remastering it. If you want to be cynical at least get your facts straight.

Anyways I am delighted Relic is making this. I hope they use this as a platform to make more DoW1 factions. I hope this is a great revenue stream after a decade of mismanagement by Sega. They're independent now & they're publishing this  themselve.

I hope hopes this has become a platform to start expansion packing Dawn of War 1 again. Keep the classic game(s) walled off as 'archival' that can be played upscale. Then add a 'Dawn of War 1-Two' campaign that does the same style of game but with new armies. Could update armies like Chaos & etc to the be in line with modern 40k while adding new armies like Tyranids, Genestealer Cults, Votaan, etc.
