hd3
G'day All Searching the web has yielded nothing, so I'm wondering has anyone seen any official art or guides to colours for the alpha legion Librarius? Horus Heresy era colour scheme is fine too. Grotsmasha
I don't think the Blue of the Librarius was codified until Guilliman published the Codex. IIRC, Librarian's in the Legions just wore Legion colours with the Psychic Hood and Weapons of the office. IIRC, Librarian's in the Legions just wore Legion colours with the Psychic Hood and Weapons of the office. There seems to be SOME reference to it in pre-Heresy texts - the Jaghatai Khan novel references a Lunar Wolf psyker with blue marks on his armour. As you say though, it wasn't standardised. I reckon the Alpha legion would have had their own way of signifying such things that would not be obvious to any outside the legion, which makes it challenging to model. Then again, when it suited, I suspect using blue to denote a legion psyker as some other legions did pre-Nikea would something they would do if they explicitly wanted to make a point (while distracting from something else, no doubt).TLDR: I don't think there's official guidance on this, so feel free to do what feels right - as long as your opponent can tell which models are librarians (which, admittedly, defeats the point when you're the Alpha Legion, but in the interests of fairness when playing, some sort of distinctive markings or equipment is needed! :P) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385986-alpha-legion-librarius-colours/#findComment-6112419 Share on other sites
Agramar_The_Luna_Wolf
I don't think Heresy era AL Librarians were easy to distinguish from other battle brothers. But those pics below can be good examples/ideas/inspiration. The third is my favourite. Anyway, there's not a single official description of a Librarian of this legion in the Heresy era or pre Heresy, so feel free to do whatever you like. This is from the cover of a W40K novel,Sons of the Hydra. As you can see, there's little to no difference between them. At least in colour scheme.
