If I ever face an Imp Fists opponent, I will let them max out all their primary points if they can destroy FierFracture in melee. This will represent the Imperial Fists rescuing the captive captain. Although I suspect the Inquisition would like to speak to him because being strung up on the back of a Chaos tank for a few years might corrupt you.

Since the Blood Wolves are fallen Space Wolves, every Blood Wolf model has a Space Wolf totem or item of some sort. Remember Fenris!

I had hoped to install LED's before the tournament and stick them inside the tanks. But then I could not find my pack of 10 LEDs--I know I have them somewhere. I broke down and ordered more LEDs.  I soldered all the components  except for the LEDs together though so I only need to wait for the new LEDs to arrive in the mail. I also soldered one of my fingers. D'oh!

Now I need to ponder what to do for my next pledge. I'll definitely do a kitbash of a Defiler and a Rogal Dorn. I'm not sure what other units to pledge though. I'll have a think and post my pledge in late July or early August.

Not a huge update but I did get the MoE and Warpsmith primed so progress.

Been making progress a little bit at a time, almost done with the blue sections now.

 

Not really sure what I want to do with the etching on the shins. I abandoned my original plan pretty early as it wasn't going to work color wise. I've been thinking of doing the runes themselves (the bits that look like letters or numbers) in red as I have red runes on other minis in the army. The lines I might just leave dark blue, but I had thought about tinting them other colors using glazes:

• darker red than the runes
• burgundy (unifying color between the red runes and the purple cloth)
• purple (don't like this too much as I don't really want the purple runes to meld with the purple tabard)

Actually thought today about maybe using a metallic, that could look cool. Something really dark like the gold I used for the crozius or Warplock Bronze.

@Volgon He is coming together super well! Your work seems super technical and methodical. It think the runes would be best as is. I think other colors would add too much and be busy.

I've given it some thought, and I don't see how the vow-based structure of the event can work if participants can modify their vows freely during the event - so sorry, you can't add new models to your vow.  You can always make a second vow, though, once you are done the first.

@sitnam Your cultists are so much better as Tzeentchians than as Redemptionists! I was iffy on that kit, but it's pitch perfect with the Kairic heads. Great choice, and excellent execution.

 

Riders and Sentinel are giving strong Eye of Terror vibes in a good way too!

Thank you! I built the cultists years ago, this Call was time to bring them out. I decided to acquire the Redemptionists for my Dark Commune to go with the cultists. It took a bit of effort, but I do love the results.

 

I'm not a Necromunda guy, so I'm curious why they don't fit as Redemptionists.

The sculpts just feel too 'fancy' for Underhivers to me. It's a taste thing. Probably be fine with the right paint job, but the studio one makes them feel too clean.

Thanks - wish I could say it was intentional, but its just overspray from airbrushing their armour.  I had been intending to paint the symbol in a solid colour (maybe gold) but liked the effect and kept it.

-  STATE OF THE EVENT -

WE ARE NOW 1/2 WAY DONE (as of August 1)

 

 

Half way into the event, and its time for some more stats!  Since the 2 week mark, we have 9 new participants (total of 69) and are up 25 vows (to 96), and have inceased our vowed points by 660.5 (to 3,752).  We are also doubled our Master of the Forge entries (to 10) and still have no Young Bloods.  If you think I have missed anything or anyone, please let me know here or by message.

 

Leading stronghold in vowed points is still heresy at 1270 (which is up 103 pnts).  They also still have to 2 highest strongest subfactions in terms of vowed points - For the Emperor at 709 (up 93) and For the Warmaster at 582 (up 10).

 

Although its still anybody's game (such that it isn't particularly meaningful at this point), the Imperium still has the highest completion rate of 32.06% of pledged points completed, though Xenos is close on its heels at 31.56%.  The other 3 are far behind at 15.83% (Astartes), 7.01% (Chaos) and Heresy in the rear with 4.96%).  In terms of raw points of completed vows (rather than %), Xenos is in the lead with 287, followed by Astartes at 103 and the rest still in the double digit - 67 for Imperium, 63 for Heresy and Chaos at the tail with 50.

Deathwatch in the Imperium forum is still the only subforum with a 100% completion rate.

 

@Antarius still has the most completed points, having completed 3 vows in two strongholds worth 174 pnts (up 61 points and 1 vow from the 2 week point).  In terms of vote diverstity, however, @Dr. Clock is in the lead, with vows in 4 of the 5 Strongholds - the next closest are the 10 members with vows in 2 strongholds.  Highest total vows is still @SgtSharp, with his massive vow of 419 for the Emperor in the Heresy forum, followed by, in the same stronghold, by 365 for the Warmaster from @GodEmperorOfMankind.

 

All the subfactions have persons vowing their models to them, except Genestealer Cultists, Adepta Sorroritas, Adeptus Mechanicus and Imperial Knights. 

 

Is great to see all the fantastic models being painted, and I look forward to seeing what all comes out by my next update a month from now!
