So, very slow progress by now. I only managed to finish an addition for the daemon prince's base, namely a victim:

..and that is my issue here. My schedule has become quite hectic, that from now until September 15, I don't believe that I'll have the time to finish my rest of my pledged models, at least not in the level and detail I want. (I guess I bit more than I could chew here..).

@Dr_Ruminahui, what do I do? Do I simply say that I give up, and bear the badge of disgrace or is there a different process?

Completion standard is set by yourself. So if you can get them to a somewhat basic level of "Complete" (Bash Colours, Wash, plain black Base), it will count, even if you fully intend on revisiting them later

@WBRBloom don't give up mate, you still have a pretty chunk of time.  My suggestion is to try to finish and eventually you will add the finishing touches after the event, like @Grotsmashasaid.

Btw, love the ork viscera you made.

And the end of summer and the vow is nearing...ofcourse I couldn't let down my own tradition of waiting to the end to get painting. To much other fun things in summer ⛱️

Well the bird is pretty much table top ready, a few extra highlights and osl effects to finish it.

And then quickly start the other chaos engine up....I can do this!

The completed vows and vows nearing completion look great! Keep up the good work fellow Chaos-ites!

I'm furiously working on Yemelina's Lament, my Traitor Guard counts-as Defiler.

(The right most one is orange because I accidentally airbrushed and vowed him rather than the 6th member of the squad).

Just need to finish the lord I am currently working on (and almost done), base all the infantry and do my rhino.  Should be doable.

Reporting Page updated - please review to ensure your entry is correct (subfaction, link, models vowed, point value, entry into Master of the Forge).  There are now 2 WEEKS REMAINING - all completed vows must be submitted on or before September 15.

I will post my end of August summary tomorrow.

-  STATE OF THE EVENT -

WE ARE ALMOST DONE (2 weeks left as of September 1)

We are in the final legs of this race, and this is your last chance for useless stats until the event is all wrapped up!  Since the 1/2 way mark, we have2 new participants (total of 71) and are up 17 vows (to 112), and have inceased our vowed points by 415 (to 4,167).  We are bumped up our Master of the Forge entries from 10 to 12 and still have no Young Bloods.  If you think I have missed anything or anyone, please let me know here or by message.

Leading stronghold in vowed points remains Heresy at  1369 (which is up 99 pnts).  They also still have to 2 highest strongest subfactions in terms of vowed points - For the Emperor at 777 (up 68) and For the Warmaster at 592 (up 10).

Although its still anybody's game, Astartes has pulled into the lead in terms of percentage of points in completed vows, with 43,23% (up from 15.83), with Xenos close on its tail at 42.59% (up from 31.56%).  Former leader the Imperium has slumped to 3rd at 39.38% (previously 32.06%) of pledged points completed, with Chaos and Heresy retaining their previous positions (Chaos is up to 22.42% from 7.01 and Heresy is up to 10.52% from 4.96%). So, an amazing rally by Astartes.

In terms of raw points of completed vows, Xenos maintains the lead at 436.5 (up from 287), still followed by Astartes, now at 311.5 (from 103), with Chaos rising from last to 3rd with 189 (previously 50), the Heresy at 144 (previously 63) and Imperium dropping swapping places with chaos and now in the rear with 82.5 (previously 67).

There are now two subfactions with 100% completion rates, both in Imperium - Deathwatch with 45 points in 1 completed vow, and Imperium of Mankind with 2 completed vows (from different members) worth 37.5.  All factions have at least one member representing them except the same from last time - Genestealer cults, Sisters and Mechanicus.  Imperial Knights have slipped out of the list, having obtained a supporter (but no vowed knights).

In terms of partipations, Astartes has the most participating frater at 24, followed by Xenos with 21, Chaos with 18, Heresy with 17 and finally Imperium with just 7.  So, asides from poor Imperium, the level of participation (and least in terms of the number of individual members) is remarkably even.  That said, individuals may participate in several strongholds - the Board champion at doing that remains @Dr. Clock, who has vows totaling 56.5 points (all but 6 points of which are completed) across all forums but Heresy - I guess the good doctor is strictly a 40K player.

In terms of total number of vows, Xenos leads with 32 (14 completed), then Astartes with 30 (14 completed), then Chaos and Heresy are tied at 22 (9 completed in Chaos, 8 in Heresy) and Imperium with 7 (3 of which are completed).

@SgtSharp remains since my first update the participant with both the biggest single vow and the most vowed points, all 419 of which are for the Emperor in the Heresy forum.  He's painted a ton of militia this event, but still has a bunch more to complete his vow.  @Antarius remains the member (again since update 1) with the most points in completed vows, with 4 completed vows across 3 strongholds worth 248 points (up 74 from last review), but still has 2 vows worth 49 points in the works.

Fantastic work by everyone so far - its always fantastic to see pictures of all the completed models.  Just one last push - hopefully everyone can get their vows completed.  And as a final reminder all vows must be submitted before the end of September 15 (Pacific Coast time) to be valid.

I've finished adding oil washes and now I'm starting on the blue basecoat and chipping stage. Here are some photos.

Enjoy the photos! And I wish everyone luck on completing their vows in time. May the Chaos Gods aid us in our efforts!

As all true followers of Chaos know, the Gods always help if you entreat them nicely.

It's just that their help is not always very helpful...

I agree, I've been blessed by Nurgle a few times too many.

Don't I know it. I was hoping for some extra eyes and tentacles, so I could paint more minis at the same time, but all I got was a bloated stomach and a sickly complexion

Greetings!

I finished the lord of change, the sword still needs some work. But for now I am calling it done.

So, I managed to do some work this Sunday, but still quite a bit behind. I've started and did some good work on the daemon prince, finished 1 assault CSM, and started on the rest of his assault squad. On top of that, I got tendonitis on my right hand, which at this point it's like the cherry on top

This guy is finished now, and based (no idea why I keep shooting pictures before the base is dry):

csm3.jpg.88b275d04211e2eaa8072e7dc41b2b63.jpg

Having recently read the Outcast Dead from HH, and seeing that I've used the same armoured torsos and heads in these two guys, I decided to paint them like they are twins. I like the idea of a CSM actually having some background story (even though these guys don't last long on the battlefield anymore):

image.jpeg.9ea59c6563793d1c14239cab92d31455.jpeg

I decided to give one of the guys a hazard stripe chainsword as well, basically because I always wanted to have a CSM with one!

Hazard3.jpg.e800abaeef89e52e7a5cec21d86ea15c.jpg

And my pride and glory, the metal Daemon Prince. I did an awful thing back in the day, and mutilated his face. I am going to cover this with one of the 'masks' from the defiler sprue, so don't pay attention to his mug :P

But yeah, that's basically what I've managed to do up till now. I still have about a week or so, and it's bank holiday this Friday and Monday in Scotland, so I might make it!

Thanks for pushing me on, fraters!

tendonitis

Brutal - sorry to hear this, Frater... I got it pretty bad last year as well and I know it's no picnic. I find frequent breaks and elbow support are key.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.
