Finished my second lord exaltant, and have now based all my models.

Working on my rhino now, which is the last model for my vow - so I'm still on track to finish my vow by next Monday.

As always this was a fun event. Life got a bit in the way so I didn't end up vowing everything I wanted but I am happy to have completed what I did vow.

I try not to think about how many coats of white it took to paint the interior.

The next step is to wait for the oils to dry. While waiting I'll work on Yemelina's banner, some tank shells and shell casings, and the interior of the turret.

I'm still hanging on - and I am going to finish, although it's been slow going recently, partially due to rl stuff, partially due to a natural inclination to laziness when it comes to painting boils on Plaguebearers...

I did manage to finish painting boils on all the riders for the Plague Drones just now, though.  So it should be relatively smooth sailing from hereon out. The Medium Unclean One has roughly a milllion billion boils too, but I'm already roughly halfway through, so it should be ok.

I'd tentatively nominate myself for a "Most boils painted during event"-award, but otoh I don't think I'd actually want any trophies associated with such a title, so...

Thanks! And yeah, while painting them all in three steps (pale sand, carroburg crimson, sun yellow) takes a lot of time and is pretty boring, I find it really makes them (look ready to) pop. So I’m not regretting the time spent at all - if anything, I’m regretting all the procrastination leading up to it

Much to my relief, I no longer have to worry about failing at my own event - because my vow is now complete!

Well, I'm not going to get things done to the standard I had hoped to (spent way too much time on my stormvermin and had some life get in the way), but gonna try to paint all night to get things done to at least a 3color/tabletop standard by the deadline. Wish me luck!

Yemelina's Lament, seen here on the desert world of Gorhast IV

She is seen here on patrol with infantry from 5th Squad, Alpha Company; the Eye of Chaos Scout Sentinel; and the Traitor Guard Russ Eponymous Reaver.

 

 

I thought the turret would sit a bit lower down and be more protected from incoming fire. Now any enemy round can just penetrate directly into the turret. At some point I'll have to cover up the gap between the bottom of the turret and the vehicle's top deck. That will provide more protection for the crew.

I am calling it done as well. My hand almost gave up, but it looks like I still got some life left in my. So,

 

VOW COMPLETE.

 

The marines are 4 colours, black base, as needed, but I am afraid I omitted doing highlights and the bases, as it would take me out of schedule. Clearer pictures will follow, of course. Want to thank my wife, caffeine and my dog, who kept providing me with more hair in my wet palette than I care to admit.
