Alas, my brothers, I have failed. The hobby time was there, but the desire to paint was not, and there can be no excuses.

But truly, can you be surprised that a Thousand Sons enjoyer had a change of plans?

What little painting I got done. Seven terminators completed, three more wip's, and one Plagueburst Crawler that is 90% complete.

Despite my pathetic output, I am very happy with my paint jobs.

Congratulations and great work on all the completed vows!

CALL TO ARMS 2025 IS NOW OVER!

(or at least the painting and submitting portion)

ANY VOW COMPLETIONS POSTED AFTER THIS POINT WILL NOT BE COUNTED AS COMPLETED.

That said, please continue posting in the Stronghold and sharing pictures of your models.  I will post further tomorrow after I record the final week of the event.

THANK YOU ALL FOR PARTICIPATING

well, failure is incompletion, but I did get a *lot* of paint down, and after years of very little hobby, I'm so happy to have done all this. Now I just need to still finish before a trip to Nottingham next month (hoping there's some open tables so I can take pictures with my minis, but at the least I can get some shots at bugman's)

These are the unfinished

and I did fully finish (save bases) almost a dozen minis to a standard I've never done before:

Reporting Page updated - please review to ensure your entry is correct (subfaction, link, models vowed, point value, entry into Master of the Forge).  If you completed your vows, please double check to confirm that I have correctly noted such - and IF I HAVE MISSED A COMPLETION, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

My next steps are to double check my math, do the number crunching, and determine (through a vote among the forum "staff") the contestants for Chaos Stronghold Artificer badge.  To facilitate that, please post your best picture of your favorite painted model or unit that you did for the Chaos Stronghold in this Call to Arms - it will make my job much easier.

Additionally, if you have a Master of the Forge entry, please post your best picture of it as well.

Finally, if you haven't done so already, please post a "group shot" of all your completed models, whether or not you managed to complete your vow.

.

My favourite and, to my belief, my best painted entry:

@Dr_Ruminahui I have checked the updated pledge page and all seems correct. Thank you.

I've been in a sort of post-CtA slump after the event ended, needing to recharge a bit and so forth, but now I'm about ready to crawl out of my hole and rejoin the thread. Let me just start by saying: Amazing work everybody! And of course, Glory and approbation to Diablo Dr. Ruminahui for running the event!

This really was a huge pleasure to take part in - my only regret was that I didn't find the time to comment more on everybody's work, because I truly enjoyed following along with what people were doing, especially when I needed a little kick to pull my finger out and get motivated.

And to those of you who didn't make it in time, remember - time means nothing within the Realm of Chaos! *insert evil laughter of thirsting gods*
Also, there's always next year!

If anybody wants to see some pictures of my Daemons, I've posted them here, rather than clutter up the thread with 20-something pictures

I'm setting a deadline of the end of the day Friday for extra pictures, as I intend to put together the candidates for voting next weekend.  So, in order to give your models the best chance in the voting, please post the best picture you can of your favorite model (if you haven't already - if you have, thank you) by the end of the week.  Note, if you don't provide new pictures, you are still in the running - I'll just be making my decisions based on the photos already posted, but that may prevent me from selecting models/units whose pictures doesn't focus on that particular model or unit.

Thank you to everyone who provided me with additional photos - they were all much appreciated.

I have now set up polls with all my semi-finalistis in the Admin/Mods subforum for them to vote on to determine the top 3 to run off for Stronghold Artificer.  That process should be done next weekend, at which point I will put up polls in the WIP subforum for general membership voting.   I will obviously post links here when that happens.

Good luck to the many talented artists whose models are in the running.

Call to Arms 2025 Chaos Stronghold Summary

First of all, thank you to the newcomers and returning members who participated in the 2025 Call to Arms, whether or not you completed your Vows, you have all made the event the success it has been. Between the five Strongholds, we all painted 3,028 points of MODELS, which is an OUTSTANDING result by any metric.

Second, I apologize for my delay in posting the final summaries - I had started to them fairly promptly, belatedly realized that I didn't have all the badges I needed, and by the time I did my life had gotten incredibly busy and stressful.  So I'm sorry for all those who have been waiting.

Third, thank you all to those who extended their thanks and appreciation through out the event.  I know I'm not very good at responding or acknowledging such, tending to brush it aside and focus on the matters at hand.  Anyway, I wanted to let you know that it is appreciated, so thank you and you're welcome.

Fourth, a big thank you to @Grotsmasha, for all the fantastic art used in the announcement posts and badges, his advice on things like point costs for models, and all of his past work creating the rules and framework for the event with the first and previous Call to Arms.

So, how did the Chaos Forums and Stronghold perform throughout the Event?

Total Points Vowed:  843

Total Points Completed: 560

Completion Ratio (Points):  66.43%

Number of Participants: 18

Number of Participants who completed all vows: 13

Completion Ratio (Participants): 72.22%

Unfortunately, this year the Chaos forces suffered both from a middling total of points vowed (being 3rd of the 5 factions) with the second lowest completion rate.

Demons - Participants vs Completed: 3/2 (66.67%), Pledged: 181 pts vs Completed: 133 pts  - 73.48% Completion

Demons completed 3 of their 4 vows, for a respectable showing and allowing them to punch above the Stronghold as a whole.

Chaos Knights - Participants vs Completed: 3/2 (66.67%), Pledged: 171 pts vs Completed: 151 pts  -  88.30% Completion

Chaos Knights had 3 times as many participants as last year, 2/3 of whom were able to complete their vows.  Given the comparatively larger vows of these participants, this gives the Chaos Knights the highest completed points total of the stronghold, and its participants the right to bare the Champions of the Horde Badge.

large.ChampionsoftheHordeTraitorKnights.

Heretic Astartes - Participants vs Completed: 4/4 (100%), Pledged: 94 pts vs Completed: 94 pts  -  100% Completion

Down from 15 participants last year to 4 this year (likely due to diffusion of the God aligned legions into their own sub factions this year), the Heretic Astartes made up for it in completed vows, beating last year's impressive completion rate of 98.5% with an even more impressive 100%.  This grants all of the Heretic Astartes participants the right to bear the Champions of the Call Badge.

small.ChampionsoftheCallHereticAstartes.

Death Guard - Participants vs Completed: 1/0 (0 %), Pledged: 76 pts vs Completed: 0 pts  -  0% Completion

Unfortunately, the Death Guard this year suffered from the forces of entropy, having only one participant who failed to complete their vow.

Emperor's Children - Participants vs Completed: 1/1 (100%), Pledged: 36 pts vs Completed: 36 pts  -  100% Completion

A new subfaction this year, it had one participant (me), who completed my fairly modest (though my highest in CtA) vow.  This permits me to wear the Champions of the Call Badge - its a lot easier to reach a 100% completion rate with only 1 participant.

large.ChampionsoftheCallEC.png.2cfa52b77

Thousand Sons- Participants vs Completed: 1/0 (0%), Pledged: 28 pts vs Completed: 0 pts  -  0% Completion

Like the Death Guard, the Thousand Sons appear to have suffered the fate of having a fickle master, with only 1 participant and no completed vows.

World Eaters - Participants vs Completed: 1/1 (100%), Pledged: 17 pts vs Completed: 17 pts  -  100% Completion

Another new subfaction with only one participant, but in this case they completed their vow, earning their subfaction (aka them) the right to wear the Champion of the Call Badge.

large.ChampionsoftheCallWE.png.cc93774c3

Realm of Chaos- Participants vs Completed: 4/3 (75%), Pledged: 240 pts vs Completed: 129 pts  -  53.75% Completion

Despite having the highest vowed points for the Chaos sub factions and a respectable overall participant completion rate of 75%, the sub faction suffered from having almost 1/2 of its vowed points in its 1 uncompleted vow.  Still, that's very faithful to the background, for the hubris of chaos to be its downfall - so kudos there.

As with most Events, there are of course Badges for Individual Achievements within the Stronghold,

Starting with those who did not Complete their Vows, the Spawn Badge, these Participants are honour-bound to bear this Badge until years end.
