Speaking of progress, here's the next 10 Grots in my vow completed.

 

20 models in 17 days. This is almost a new record for me.

Well I got in enough time that these feel ready for basing... I might do some tiny red ink touches on the yellow for that little extra depth, but feeling alright about them as-is:

 

 

 

 

Yeah... the backpacks are a bit crazymaking, but the Spidey Ninja Elf vibes are strong.

So... question about the rule regarding pledging models covered by the Xenos stronghold to any subfaction. Does that mean I could pledge, for example, a winged hive tyrant to the Leagues of Votann? Am I reading that right? I see the note that subfaction doesn't have to correspond to models, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something before I look silly lol

 

Just posting the section here for convenience's sake:

 

"You may vow ANY MODEL that is covered by THIS STRONGHOLD, but you must allocate your points to only one SUBFACTION.  These Subfactions are the ones listed under the various Strongholds above, and are the various B&C forums/subforums, with 2 exceptions:

   a) Deathwatch is a valid Subfaction for both the Astartes and Imperium Strongholds, despite not having a dedicated forum/subforum; and

   b) in the HERESY STRONGHOLD, the Subfactions are "Emperor" and "Warmaster", not the 2 B&C forums listed above.

NOTE: Your chosen Subfaction doesn't have to correspond to your vowed models, although it typically does."

@AvePicante, you are correct.  Basically, all your vows in a Stronghold need to be to 1 subfaction, but that doesn't limit the subfactions you can paint models for.  That's basically just the subfaction that you want to be representing for the event.  While this often/usually reflects the models you are painting, this doesn't need to be the case.  Basically, you can choose whatever subfaction you want, and there is no kind of second guessing for appropriateness.

 

Some examples:

 

1.  You are painting tyranids.  You chose tyranids as your subfaction.  This is probably the most common result.

2.  You are painting tyranids and votann.  You are painting more votann, so you choose votann.

3.  You are painting tyranids and votann.  You are painting more votann, but you think their fluff sucks, so you chose tyranids.

4.  You are painting tyranids and votann.  You are painting more votann, but your primary army is necrons, so you chose necrons.

5.  You are painting necromunda figures and terrain.  Your preferred xenos army is necrons, so you chose necrons.

 

All those are valid.

The Necromunda Squats are ready for basing, I think. I'm glad this event forced me to get started on these, they've been sitting for months. I wanted them to be a combination of my Votann main color scheme (thunderhawk blue, corax white, hashut copper) while also having some of the bright, flashy, high contrast colors these guys beg for. The bad thing is, now I love these models and want to drop a dime on a Necromunda arm

30 models in 31 days. Didn't quite hit my goal, but still really good progress.

 

10 Orks complete. Basing to be completed when I settle on a theme for this particular army.
