And with that, my vow is complete. 8 Ironhead Squats, 1 Sagitaur, and an Einhyr Champion, based and ready!

Thank the Votann I'm done and have no plans for a second pledge later this week, right?

...right?

Update from me - a little behind where I wanted to be (haven't yet started the bases, which'll be time consuming adding Martian Ironcrust).

For the Warriors and Scarabs it's just the bases to do, but I've got to do the Nobles' blades. Hoping to have these done by the 15th next month, as I'd like to squeeze in a second vow of Necrons before the event ends:sweat:

I, Silvereyes, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint 10 Kroot Carnivores for 10 points for the Glory of the T'au Empire and the Xenos Stronghold on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

Recommended this challenge in my introduction thread. I need a bit of a motivation kick to start painting my T'au backlog, and this seems like a good way of doing it. Good luck to everyone else participating.

I, zulu.tango, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint 10 vespids and a control drone, totaling 11 points for the glory of the Tau Empire and the Greater Good on or before September 17th, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

I, YoungWolf7, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint the following models for 38 points for the Glory of the Orks subfaction and the Xenos Stronghold on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

Vow #2:

  • 1 Jawbreaka (Megatrakk Scrapjet proxy?) [5] ***Master of the Forge Entry***
  • 2 Ork Big Meks w/ Shokk Attack Guns [10]
  • 2 Grot Assistants [2]
  • 1 Ork Painboy [5]
  • 1 Grot Orderly [1]
  • 3 Weirdboys [15]
  • [38 points total]

Jawbreaka doesn't really fit into proxying any predefined Ork model. Closest thing would really be a Battlewagon/Gunwagon, but it's on the same size base as a buggy. Buggies are all 5 points, the Battlewagon is listed as 6. I'm not going to quibble over a single point.

Reporting Page updated - please review to ensure your entry is correct (subfaction, link, models vowed, point value, entry into Master of the Forge).

Wow, lots of completions this week in Xenos.  Also good to see the revows.

@Bouargh

1.  Can you please put in your completion post photos of all the completed models, either together or separately?  You'll want to include the best close up you have of your Master of the Forge entry.

2.  You only get one Master of the Forge Entry per stronghold - do you want it to be your Archon or your Autarch?

3.  Tokens are only .5 pnts each, so I have your vow down as 38 pnts rather than 39.

@zulu.tango

1.  You have to chose one subforum for all your vows, even if the models you are painting aren't for that subforum (its basically just the subforum you are representing for this event) - see my explanation here.  So, your orks and tau need to be pledged to the same subforum.  I currently have everything under orks, but let me know if you want to vow everything to Tau instead or a different subforum.

2.  Is the vespid controller a "model" in game terms, or just a token that indicates some rule is in effect or available?

@YoungWolf7 - 5 sounds fine for the jawbreaker, but if you want to share a picture of it next to a battlewagon I can consider if it should be 6 instead.  For now, I have it as 5.

@Dr_Ruminahui The closest things I have to compare it to are a modified 6x6 Battlewagon and a Megatrakk proxy. Like I said, I'm not stressed about it. It is a lot of work for a 5 point model though. ;)

2. I will in that case keep the Archon.

3. Noted. I missed that.

Thanks, @Bouargh.  By the end of the event, could you get a good picture of the MotF Archon on her own?  That puts you in the base place to show it off for the voting.  Your dark elves look great for a bunch of degenerate pointy ears (spoken as a collector and painter of degenerate round ears ).

I, AvePicante, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint one Hekaton Land Fortress (6), two Ironhead Squat Scout Trikes (2ea) with included drones (?), one Ironhead Squats Vartijian Exo Driller (?), ten Tau Pathfinders (1ea) plus three drones (?), one Aeldari Farseer (5) one Parasite of Mortrex (5), and one Winged Hive Tyrant (10) for a minimum of 40 points, for the Glory of the Nix Mons Mining Company, the Leagues of Votann, and the Xenos Stronghold, on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

Our pioneering trips have been fruitful, and the Hernkyn of the Nyx Mons have returned with an impressive retinue, including captured forced of the Great Devourer, a Tau Pathfinder team all too trusting of what they call "Demiurge," and the surviving member of an Aeldari troupe who found their way into our space. Resources gained from this endeavor will fuel the birth of many future Kin.

I would like to submit my Winged Hive Tyrant as my Job's a Big'un

I am unsure of what cost to give the Driller as it does not have a Votann equivalent, it is bigger than an Einhyr Champion so can I get away with 5? I am happy to provide reference pics. I also believe I read drones only count for 0.5 points, is that accurate? If so, a total of 47.5 points.

@AvePicante, Job's a Big One vow is a seperate vow, so I've put the Hive Tyrant on his own at 10 points.  As for the others, the Driller is 2 points (same size-ish as a chaos obliterator, which is 2 - he'd have to be dreadnaught size to be 3 (or a 40K character equivalent to be 5), and the drones, being tokens, are 1/2 pnt each, making your total for the rest of your vow 34.5.

-  STATE OF THE EVENT -

WE ARE NOW 1/2 WAY DONE (as of August 1)

Half way into the event, and its time for some more stats!  Since the 2 week mark, we have 9 new participants (total of 69) and are up 25 vows (to 96), and have inceased our vowed points by 660.5 (to 3,752).  We are also doubled our Master of the Forge entries (to 10) and still have no Young Bloods.  If you think I have missed anything or anyone, please let me know here or by message.

Leading stronghold in vowed points is still heresy at 1270 (which is up 103 pnts).  They also still have to 2 highest strongest subfactions in terms of vowed points - For the Emperor at 709 (up 93) and For the Warmaster at 582 (up 10).

Although its still anybody's game (such that it isn't particularly meaningful at this point), the Imperium still has the highest completion rate of 32.06% of pledged points completed, though Xenos is close on its heels at 31.56%.  The other 3 are far behind at 15.83% (Astartes), 7.01% (Chaos) and Heresy in the rear with 4.96%).  In terms of raw points of completed vows (rather than %), Xenos is in the lead with 287, followed by Astartes at 103 and the rest still in the double digit - 67 for Imperium, 63 for Heresy and Chaos at the tail with 50.

Deathwatch in the Imperium forum is still the only subforum with a 100% completion rate.

@Antarius still has the most completed points, having completed 3 vows in two strongholds worth 174 pnts (up 61 points and 1 vow from the 2 week point).  In terms of vote diverstity, however, @Dr. Clock is in the lead, with vows in 4 of the 5 Strongholds - the next closest are the 10 members with vows in 2 strongholds.  Highest total vows is still @SgtSharp, with his massive vow of 419 for the Emperor in the Heresy forum, followed by, in the same stronghold, by 365 for the Warmaster from @GodEmperorOfMankind.

All the subfactions have persons vowing their models to them, except Genestealer Cultists, Adepta Sorroritas, Adeptus Mechanicus and Imperial Knights.

Is great to see all the fantastic models being painted, and I look forward to seeing what all comes out by my next update a month from now!

@Dr_Ruminahui - Everything under orks is fine, and the control drone is a physical model, bottom right of my vow picture

Posted (edited)

@zulu.tango - just looked vespid up in the 40K rules, and the drone, while  model, doesn't have its own profile and just denotes a piece of wargear.  As such, its a "token" and is 1/2 a point - so I've marked you down for 10.5.  Thanks for the subfaction confirmation.

...and (excuse the double post ) here is my second vow:

I, Firestorm40k, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint the following:

10 x Immortals

5 x Deathmarks

3 x Wraiths

2 x Heavy Destroyers

for 27 points, for the Glory of High Phaeron Nepharekh's Celestial Hegemon and the Xenos Stronghold, on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

As with my first vow, these have been primed black then sprayed with Leadbelcher. Time to get dry-brushing..!

Reporting Page updated - please review to ensure your entry is correct (subfaction, link, models vowed, point value, entry into Master of the Forge).

My second vow in the Xenos FOrum is now complete:

I will have to give asecond round of photo shots for the Master of the FOrge entry I included in the first vow, but I think I am done for this year. Except change of mind...

Once agian a great emulation and a good summer painting rate thanks to CtA!

Vow Completed.   I have finished the 10 lootas, a warboss, a mek, and 2 bomb squigs.    Took me longer than i was anticipating but life got in the way more than expected.  Sadly I wont be making any other vows, due to time.     The last pic is showing my now 2 meks side by side, just so no one thinks i just reused my first mek.   Did a nice head swap on the second mek.
