I missed the proper time to announce this 10 days ago (sorry about that), but better late than never.

WE ARE NOW 2 MONTHS [and a bit] (and 2/3 of the way [and a bit]) INTO THE EVENT

THERE ARE NOW 3 WEEKS REMAINING

As a reminder, all vows must be completed on or before September 15, 2025.

Fellas, I'll have you know I picked up a dozen boxes from the new Votann launch but I pledged too much of my Xenos backlog so now I'm furiously painting a bunch of T'au pathfinders while staring longingly at boxes of Cthonian Earthshakers

Stay strong frater. I always get really antsy to start painting up something different after the end of CtA

I feel playful, playful enough to place a third vow in the xenos forum, even if there is little less than 3 weeks to the final date of the challenge.

This time I will pledge part of the models I have recently kit bashed (feel free to visit my Blog: https://bolterandchainsword.com/blogs/blog/103-pointy-and-spiky/)

So, I, bouargh, enlist for CtA25 with a third vow in the XENOS stronghold with:

- 2 units of 10 kit bashed VoidReavers - 2x10 = 20 pts

- 2 Warlocks - 2x5 = 10 pts

- 1 Troupe Master - 5 pts

For a total of 35 pts to be summed and computed along with my previous vows associated to the Drukhari subfaction.

I now have to beat the clock.

I, Dr. Clock, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint 3 Steeljacks with melee weapons and 3 'Steeljills' with 'volkite' for 6 pts for the Glory of the Galberkin and the Leagues of Votann Stronghold on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end.

If you'd prefer these Thallax in Herest stronghold that's cool... but I'll be painting and using them as Steeljacks.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

I've made a lot of progress on my third vow and the 2 squads are done while the 3 characters show sufficient progress so that they might be finished by end of this week.

In the mean time, and as requested by @Dr_Ruminahui, here are some close up of my entry for the Master of the Forge category (most as links to the gallery hosted on B&C):

This third vow looks like it will be completed ahead of schedule! I should beware of not burning the candle by both ends though. But is well on tracks!

A proper Sunday update!

These are going pretty fast! If I can bang my way through them before Friday I may just be able to hit Tier 2 in this stronghold. Thinking... 7 more hours including basing?

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

I will post my end of August summary tomorrow.

And here comes my completed third vow - it has been rocket painted:

- the Reavers already shown:

For a total of 35 points (2x10 + 3x5)

More in my Blog:

VoidReavers ready to board – dish has been served! - Pointy and Spiky - The Bolter and Chainsword

Burn the witch! - a Warlock Conclave and a Clown - Pointy and Spiky - The Bolter and Chainsword

It closes my contributions for the Xenos Stronghold and for the whole CtA25.

Great challenge, great year! I now need a familly portrait.

@Dr. Clock, all your vows in a Stronghold need to be dedicated to the same subfaction, regardless of the actual models pledged.  So unfortunately, we can't split your 2 vows between the 2 as you suggest.  I refer you to my post here for a more detailed explanation.

So, I can keep your vows under Drukari, move them all to Votann, or move them all to some other Xenos subfaction that better characterizes where you see yourself in the hobby.  Let me know your preference and I will act accordingly.

-  STATE OF THE EVENT -

WE ARE ALMOST DONE (2 weeks left as of September 1)

We are in the final legs of this race, and this is your last chance for useless stats until the event is all wrapped up!  Since the 1/2 way mark, we have2 new participants (total of 71) and are up 17 vows (to 112), and have inceased our vowed points by 415 (to 4,167).  We are bumped up our Master of the Forge entries from 10 to 12 and still have no Young Bloods.  If you think I have missed anything or anyone, please let me know here or by message.

Leading stronghold in vowed points remains Heresy at  1369 (which is up 99 pnts).  They also still have to 2 highest strongest subfactions in terms of vowed points - For the Emperor at 777 (up 68) and For the Warmaster at 592 (up 10).

Although its still anybody's game, Astartes has pulled into the lead in terms of percentage of points in completed vows, with 43,23% (up from 15.83), with Xenos close on its tail at 42.59% (up from 31.56%).  Former leader the Imperium has slumped to 3rd at 39.38% (previously 32.06%) of pledged points completed, with Chaos and Heresy retaining their previous positions (Chaos is up to 22.42% from 7.01 and Heresy is up to 10.52% from 4.96%). So, an amazing rally by Astartes.

In terms of raw points of completed vows, Xenos maintains the lead at 436.5 (up from 287), still followed by Astartes, now at 311.5 (from 103), with Chaos rising from last to 3rd with 189 (previously 50), the Heresy at 144 (previously 63) and Imperium dropping swapping places with chaos and now in the rear with 82.5 (previously 67).

There are now two subfactions with 100% completion rates, both in Imperium - Deathwatch with 45 points in 1 completed vow, and Imperium of Mankind with 2 completed vows (from different members) worth 37.5.  All factions have at least one member representing them except the same from last time - Genestealer cults, Sisters and Mechanicus.  Imperial Knights have slipped out of the list, having obtained a supporter (but no vowed knights).

In terms of partipations, Astartes has the most participating frater at 24, followed by Xenos with 21, Chaos with 18, Heresy with 17 and finally Imperium with just 7.  So, asides from poor Imperium, the level of participation (and least in terms of the number of individual members) is remarkably even.  That said, individuals may participate in several strongholds - the Board champion at doing that remains @Dr. Clock, who has vows totaling 56.5 points (all but 6 points of which are completed) across all forums but Heresy - I guess the good doctor is strictly a 40K player.

In terms of total number of vows, Xenos leads with 32 (14 completed), then Astartes with 30 (14 completed), then Chaos and Heresy are tied at 22 (9 completed in Chaos, 8 in Heresy) and Imperium with 7 (3 of which are completed).

@SgtSharp remains since my first update the participant with both the biggest single vow and the most vowed points, all 419 of which are for the Emperor in the Heresy forum.  He's painted a ton of militia this event, but still has a bunch more to complete his vow.  @Antarius remains the member (again since update 1) with the most points in completed vows, with 4 completed vows across 3 strongholds worth 248 points (up 74 from last review), but still has 2 vows worth 49 points in the works.

Fantastic work by everyone so far - its always fantastic to see pictures of all the completed models.  Just one last push - hopefully everyone can get their vows completed.  And as a final reminder all vows must be submitted before the end of September 15 (Pacific Coast time) to be valid.

On the home stretch with these Necrons - just the bases to do and they're finished. We've been away on holiday this week so I've not been able to make any progress, but I hopefully have enough time to get these done by the 15th..!

Was getting a bit close to the deadline for my liking after being done with over a month to spare last year, but managed it and even painted the aspect shrine tokens, although I don't think they are worth points.

More detailed photos of the units can be found on my B+C blog Here.

I think they're 0.5 points each!

They are, but they would have needed to have been vowed originally to count.  That said, if they are in the picture of the unpainted vow, I'm willing to include them... but I couldn't see them myself, when I went back and looked for them.

Ah ok, just realised I hadn't added the warlocks to the vow either as they weren't in the original unpainted photo but added later. No problem was just trying to get over the 100pt mark.
