Hey Guys

Does the writer use the company numberous to describe or tell something about the commander/hero in charge of the company? Is there a hidden meaning non-explicited way the writer want to say something about the person?

I mean; in the 3 first novels, we have Garviel Loken (10th captain), Tarik Torgaddon (2nd captain and Iacton Qruze (3rd captain) from the Lunar Wolves/Sons of Horus + others; Garviel could be first-to-none metaphore. The same could be used for Saul Tarvitz (again 10th or first-to-none), Shardrak Meduson and others I can't remember

Tarik, could be; secound hero or secound-chance-never-comes-to-you... The same can be seen with all other commanders/captains with the initials "2nd"; they die in the initial battle of the HH where most are introduced or get "radical altered" (Solomon Demeter, Ignatius Grulgor, Phosis T'kar, Berossus but not (Ma)Thias Herzog).

Iacton could be 3rd choice (always third choise , as he was) or to the line in command, even through I don't consider Marius Vairossean to be a third-in-line to the command/to die...

I could think that 13th captains be very ulucky  as both Lucius and Luc Sedirae are unlucky when making planetfall due to treachery (and they are both leaders of assualt companies, the ironi is not lost on me )

BUT....

There are others such as Nathaniel Garro who confussed me..

Like Nathaniel Garro, Argel Tal and Serghar Targost? All are 7th captains, both I don't sence a connection with them...

Any thougths?
