Terminator captain with lightning claws or Thunderhammer?

Hey guys

 

Anyone knows if there will be released a new box/model with a terminator captain who can be armoured with lighting claws or thunderhammer and storm shield?

 

They have not release any new terminator assault squad yet and I was wondering if that would come up? I mean, it would make sense, as they then would be able to sell a seperate box where you can arme him with these wargears...

The load out of the upcoming Assault Terminators will inform us on any potential future Terminator Captain model. However, the current multi-part Terminator Captain is very new so I wouldn't expect a new one for a while. We might get rules and then told to kit bash it.

You don't think they will come with a new model? Even just an upgrade set for a Terminator Captain?

I don't think they'll replace the current multi-part Terminator Captain so soon. Maybe an ETB one in 11th ed.

I was acutally not consider it a replacement, just a different box; An Assault terminator captain, with only assault weaponry

The one space marine kit that is coming without question, you do not need rumors or anything to know it, is Assault Terminators. We have rumors to the effect as well, which should be to the surprise of noone. With a rumored Captain Lysander (who is Thunderhammer stormshield) it would also feel very likely that a captain model with such weaponry should be forthcoming. There are 6 different generic non-terminator captains available for purchase normally (and there's been at least that many available through other means), so a second terminator captain with different gear does not feel far fetched.

A good current analogue would be the two kits: 'Captain in Gravis Armor' and 'Captain in Gravis Armor with Master-crafted Heavy Bolt Rifle'

 

I feel its very likely, but I can't recall any rumors to a generic captain specifically, so it might be something that will come further down the line instead of the more or less imminent space marine kits we hear rumor rumblings about.

 

EDIT: Should also clarify, while Assault Terminators are absolutely inevitable and completely non-brainer, there is technically a chance they're not what's coming NEXT, but later still.

Yeah an updated datasheet for the terminator captain is a no big deal. It'll be more annoying when they do it BA style and say "Terminator Captain with Assault Weapons" and give it a whole new datasheet. Which is my guess to what will happen.
