Hi, I am preparing a battery of Eldar Support Weapons and I have a Night Spinner in my pile of shame. These models mark targets with a "snared" effect and I would like to make some bases decorated with clouds of monofilament wire, but I'm not sure how I could go about it and make it look good. I considered hot glue threads, but that might not be very durable and most proper wire I can think of would look too thick. Cotton wool is wispy but would look too fluffy... Does anyone have some good suggestions? I am struggling a bit here and I'm hoping someone will be able to inspire me.

        Thanks for your time.

So... I solved my own problem.... by accident. I tried to 3d print some of my custom bases for some Vypers and Shining Spears for the Call to Arms event on one of our PLA 3d printers. I've been having terrible luck setting them up correctly recently and somehow I managed to mess it up even more than before. For some reason known only to the will of the Omnissiah the extruder head auto-homed about 5mm away from the print bed. This is a massive gap that made any chance of the print succeeding absolutely impossible.

I was watching the printer start to extrude useless, tangled up filament when suddenly the cogs in my head aligned and I realised this is exactly what I was looking for! I spent almost an hour gradually harvesting this silly string from the printer bit by bit, trying not to leave it too long and risk it getting too tangled up.

This is what I collected:

I am sure with a little silvery colourshift paint I will be able to use this...
