Hey all,

Well, it’s not quite new year new army, but I have been compiling these guys for a while, and used them as a surprise army for a 1k friendly tournament at WHW a few months back. I figured after nearly 8k of iron warriors and chaos knights, let’s try an equally easy to paint army (for a man of my limited skills).

As such, and kind of as a slow grow army, here are my amateur-ly painted custodes.

Still to paint (and to be fair most need to be made) are another 5 wardens, blade champion, 3 venetari, 3 vertus praetors, 5 sagittarum, and a suspiciously low quality telemon dreadnought and a galatus dreadnought.

Thanks guys - I’ve built 5 wardens, a custom blade champion, three vertus praetors and am building a custom shield captain atm also.

I’m really wanting to get six or so aquilon terminators. Their girth and presence - even if their rules aren’t the best - are great, and I love the designs of the models.

Does anyone have any examples of their own aquillons? I’m looking for some inspiration!

So I thought I’d post a cheeky update on here regarding what’s been going on. I’ve still got a telemon, galatus and venetari to clean and build, but have managed to assemble three vertus praetors, and magnetise the bases.

Annoyingly I did the bases just before GW made it so only the oval ones are ‘official’ now. Nonsense lol.

Managed to grab some aquilon terminators for a steal, and have just finished magnetising their weapons - a very satisfying process!

One thing I didn’t expect was how much pinning was required to make sagittarum work! That was a learning curve. Originally I wanted three squads of these, but I’m really not sure now!

Annoying with the bases, but hopefully not the end of the world. If someone objects, can you just plop an appropriately-sized piece of card under the base and say "there you go"?

The gold you've used has a nice tone to it.
