While not a Centos model, the limited edition Captain from 8th edition was definitely very similar (although pure Primaris).

This model had a Plasma Pistol though right before the conversion? Awesome looking model btw.

Good pose, great miniature... ruined by those knee flanges.

I don't know why, but I detest them so much I can't get over them.

I hate the Mk X leg armour flanges too because they remind me of "hooker boots" (don't know the actual name for them) like Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman.

Yes, you are right. I did the conversion a while ago and forgot about the original armament.

He's got a back banner and hazard stripes on the power fist, so the law requires that I like him.

Bad news though for anyone who dosen't live near to a Warhammer shop. Bottom of the article implies he will only be available in stores and for a limited time.

Annoyingly he seems to be a store anniversary model, (deets forthcoming though?) which means i have to get fleeced on ebay unless I can find a frater with a local store willing to put in some legwork.

Much prefer when these things are orderable online

It’s Pedro Kantor in cosplay!

Nope. It´s AcTuAlLy Captain Mentos.

Cpt. Mentos: "They call me the Freshmaker!"

The Freshmaker (Perk):

Cpt. Mentos may embark onto a vehicle AND disembark from it in the SAME turn!

Its for a "world wide event", going to guess the SM2.0 codex launch might coincide with the anniversary of something... if I were a betting man, it may coincide with the 30 year anniversary of codex ultramarines (1995 original release)

Does anyone else remember a couple of years ago when they announced they were going to start making older limited edition models available sporadically? That never materialised

They did a made to order of some of them right? I've been very eagerly waiting on them to do it again because there are some limited release Necron models I'd really love to get my hands on but it seems like it's been forever since the last one.

It materialised for those old metal cult marines and metal abaddon. I just wish it also materialised for space marine veterans (2007)

I believe this is the first generic Captain model who's been modeled with a dedicated Auto Bolt Rifle (the OG Primaris Captain had in-box Auto and Stalker options).

Not that it matters in 10th since GW decided they don't want an audience that can handle that level of granularity.

At this rate, I might as well get out in front of 11th Edition and start referring to all Bolt Rifle, Heavy Bolt Rifle, Bolt Carbine, and Boltgun variants as their inevitable one-statline-fits-all replacement: "Bolt Weapon."

But that will sound like a smorgasbord of delightful variety to the people playing 13th Edition with a choice between "Shoot Weapon" and "Touch Weapon," so please don't for a second think I'm complaining.

Iirc fabian's been dead since 9th, I would need to check though.

Either way, a very nice mini. Will slot in nicely into most marine forces.

I swear I saw something recent referencing him.

It really irks me they no longer put the company structures of the ultramarines in the codex.

I don't think Centos is meant to be a canon character, insomuch as he is a name they've reused for promotional minis with this pose and loadout.

We've had terminator chaplain tarentus, sergeant jovan, lieutenant Amulius and sergeant Castus in that order before in the commemorative series along with 'Space marine captain', 'Primaris lieutenant with storm shield' as well as 'Primaris company champion' so its a bit split on wether they have a name or not. They tend not to have special rules though

Imposter !!!!

I know ol' big C Centos when I see him !- And he' ain't got no cricket pads. And He didn't need no rock to stand tall!

Apologies folks! I just still don't dig Primaris................. I'll quietly shuffle out now!

Nature is healing.

His collar armour is cut down and better shaped as well.

They really need to do away with the knee rims though.

It really is the knee armour that I dislike the most about about Primaris Armour (other than the helmets). Some of the new Space Wolf miniatures have classic style leg armour and they look great.

I'd like him but not so keen on the 14 hour round trip to grab one.

It really is a shame that he'll be yet another "While Stocks Last" commemorative miniature with limited availability. At one point they seemed to be trying to do stuff as "made to order", I remember they even re-released one of them as that saying there might be more coming...only for it not to happen. Even the stuff for events like Black Library celebration used to be just ordinary stock items, now they're single-run while-stock-lasts and that's it.

There's a big of a joke in the name since he comes out whenever they hit a 'century' milestone with store openings according the article. The first one was for 100 US stores and this new version is for 200 US stores and 300 in the UK and the rest of Europe.

Though probably should have been Centus there, which would have been a nice story for a character. Humble neophyte picks the High Gothic for "One of a Hundred" on ascension to Astartes to mark his position as one within his company of brothers, then later becomes a captain leading said hundred.
