I think they would have had to work really hard to come up with a delivery mechanism more designed to cause frustration.

One day only, in store only and only while stocks last. Jesus. Why not just pay scalpers money directly, as thats effectively what GW is doing now anyway.

Look at the Firstborn Design Integrations.

Firstborn style Helmet

Firstborn style Arms

Firstborn style Backpack Vents

Firstborn style Stomach Cables instead of Primaris Plate.

Oh my god, it even has a watermark.

I'm pretty sure last time they did this it was 'can buy on the day or order in store if sold out'.

If this does sell out quickly it's yet another move towards anti consumer practices by GW. Having to go into the city for it AND might not get it? really, who thought that's a good idea for keeping customers happy.

The last model or two that's been exclusive to the stores has been "buy on the day, or MtO in-store if they run out", yeah.

As far as delivery mechanisms go it's definitely rough on those without a nearby store - although given the model is supposed to be celebrating the brick-and-mortar stores as opposed to something like, x millionth customer online I can see why they've opted to have it in-person.

**UPDATE**

I just went to my local GW, which is quite a popular one on a busy high street. I was told by the staff that they will not be receiving many of the models, and if you want to secure a Centos you should be there before or at store opening.

Sadly I’m working all day so no chance I will be able to get one. Asked the store manager and he seemed to think the special milestone models may be available as web exclusives at a later date but I don’t recall if this was the case previously?

The WarCom article states "While Stocks Last", so if your local doesn't sell out on the day you may still be able to get one.

Alternatively you could try bribing a family member to go for you.

I have a feeling this model might be very popular.

The model itself is a bridge between Primaris and Classic Marines, it has sentimantal value for many in the hobby, and it's a good model in general!

Add in a mobility disability and thats why i never am able to get these models....i wonder if i can appeal to GW that their distribution model is discriminatory to disabled people?

Previously they have made the store anniversary models into MTO online purchases later on.  However its never been consistent and I don't know if any other event models have had the same treatment.  Did Titus get a MTO in the end?  He's been released in several ways now.

Does anyone know the UK price?

$77AU, think Titus' price

My store had ~20 or so on the shelf @ Open, 1/2 were gone due to the queue. I don't know if they had more stock elsewhere.
