SlickSamos
Hi all, Apologies to mods if this is the wrong forum... I recently found some FW models painted on eBay and they looked okay from the front, but when I received them I noticed miscasts (unsurprising) began to clean them up. But the resin was off-white/cream rather than grey & there was orange sand between some of the joints, and as I pried the models apart some looked melted... Here is one model I popped apart and I've cut into the jump pack to see if the glue was causing the off-white/cream or if it was the same colour all of the way through: I would appreciate someone confirming (or denying) what I think. Thanks! Firedrake Cordova 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386052-fake-models/ Share on other sites

Terminatorinhell
That does look a little weird. I did have some FW minis where the resin was ivory colored (I got it directly from FW) so maybe it could be a weird batch. But I'm not sure what that orange stuff is. Iron Warrior w/ Servo Arm
That's a different resin than what FW uses (I think). It is a bad recast. SlickSamos
Thank you for the sanity check! I'm returning them as miss-sold as the seller listed the manufacturer as Warhammer and didn't mention that they had customised them or cast their own parts. I'll update with outcome when that happens... Grotsmasha
There was a period 8 to 10yrs ago when white resin recasts like that were common on eBay, I got stung a couple of times with recast Heresy stuff mostly. Being the model is painted, they may have passed hands a couple of times and the current seller may not have known. crimsondave 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386052-fake-models/#findComment-6114103 Share on other sites
