Bouargh
I have just noticed that the Servitor battleclade has been entitled with a Datasheet for 40k with the latest release of updates in the download section. eng_4-ruimiuzt2c.pdf The main comment is that the point value went down vs. the Legendary Servitor unit. Which is a good thing… you now pay more or less the same for 8 Servitor + underseer than previously for 4 servitors. And the ones without HW still get a decent shooting. Not a bad trade off. Yet you loose flexibility as only single hand weapons can be customized now. With T set at 4 Servitors are likely to be more resilient and can become an annoying little unit that may block objectives for a while. The drawbacks now; even if it is more a differential analysis vs. weapons called in a similar fashion, these are related to the downgrading of profiles vs. the same ones borne by Kataphrons. The blasters and flamers loose 1 in S. But the Heavy Arc rifle is the most affected as it looses 1 A and goes to Rapid Fire 1. Seen the sizes of the guns, it is not that surprising for the single handed weapons but more puzzling for the Heavy Arc Rifle. My only regret is that this datasheet has not been split in 2: I would have liked an Underseer as a new class of subcharacter rather than a leader stuck and diluted into the Servitor unit. I guess I will pick one anyway when it will be released… Other point of deception; the specialized servitors included into the KT kit are not considered in this datasheet. Not a surprise anyway. It has been the case already for other KT once transposed to 40k... MagicHat
Too bad about the specialists. The Auto-proxy would probably just have been a taser, but the breacher and medic would have been nice to have. I'd still run the unit. 60 PTS? For 9 models with T4 Sv4 + 6++ and action after running and can shoot with reasonable impact for the price. I don't think I would put a character with them but they look perfectly fine running on their own doing VP things. Dr. Clock
It is frankly hilarious that in 40k the opposing side Kill Team (Raveners) is almost 3 times the points. Understanding that there's a technoarch missing I guess it's not quite that bad, but still funny. I'll get the box because they are a great filler unit for the price to be sure. It's pretty nifty that AdMech can and do compete on minimum points squads with both Guard and various Cultists and I also like that these make the Skitarii feel more elite for the comparison internal to the list. I'd almost consider sneaking in some Heresy Techthralls with a few weapon swaps to push through to a full 3x9. As it happens I've already done 4x MM servitors for my Inq retinues, so it'd be a cinch to just slap a few flamers and meltas on some thralls and go full horde mode with it. Basically I'm glad that they're cheap, and have a cheap Heresy kit for converting ; ) Cheers, The Good Doctor. Ulfast Posted yesterday at 09:02 AM Share Posted yesterday at 09:02 AM So has anyone tried them in 40k and do you see any purpose to get them? Bouargh Posted yesterday at 12:17 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 12:17 PM Not yet. But I placed an order to get some from a reseller. My view is that thèse are meant to be embarked in a dunerider and act as a flanker. They have firepower that closes from kataphrons but get more mobility. But proof of fire will be needed to confirm Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386067-datasheet-for-servitor-battleclade/#findComment-6121854 Share on other sites
