Recently uncovered documents priorly under Inquisitorial data-seal shed a little more light on New Albia's colonization and role in the Heresy. During the Great Crusade, the world had been conquered by a joint force of the 6th and 10th Legions, with the latter leaving a Order of Clan Vurgaan in place as a garrison force. This was not solely to protect the colonists; the Eastern Fringe was considered wild country for the Imperium even then.

The Claves of Order Septim were chiefly drawn from Clan Vurgaan, reputed as most hot-headed of the Clans of Medusa. However, a company-sized element of the Gorgon’s most favored Clan, Avernii, were attached as well. Iron Lord Lugos Sul, a veteran of numerous xenocides across the Ultima Segmentum, held overall command. In theory, Sul’s will was sovereign and final within his domain — as was the way in the Iron Tenth. In practice, he often delegated the day-to-day running of the New Albian garrison to a loose grouping of Iron Fathers, lesser field officers and Optae-class subalterns.

After the Isstvan atrocities, Iron Lord Sul found himself too far removed from the wider galaxy to be of much aid to his fellows in the Iron Tenth. Instead, he concerned himself chiefly with containing runoff from the Thramas Crusade with a 'ring of steel', as well as rallying loyalists elsewhere in the Fringe to battle opportunistic reavers both traitor and unaligned. Of Order Septim's final fate, however, none can say...

The method for painting these guys is pretty simple; I start with a undercoat of Black. Then, I take Abbadon Black and paint over the armor panels, drybrushing VMC Gunmetal Grey over the armor. After that, I wash with Agrax Earthshade and do any metal details with TTC Sir Coates Silver.

Still WIP, but further along.

Centurion Kalag was always amongst the more audacious of Order Septim's line officers. Notably he desired to exact revenge for Istvaan's atrocities, a goal he pursued to a limited extent against traitors that dared to cross his path, including the forces of Warsmith Tarn. He and Iron Captain Sul butted heads on many an occasion over tactics and priorities. The Medusan-born Kalag showed noted impetuosity and barely-restrained grief over the loss of Ferrus Manus, whereas Sul remained obedient to the fallen Primarch's orders to protect New Albia at all costs.

Stealing the 7th Legion's IP for CTA. Word has it that my house is currently surrounded by their Field Police Legionaries, who are currently shouting for me to come out with my hands up. Little do they know my domicile is illegally boobytrapped (just joking).

Nevertheless, here it is.

He has a Clan Vurgaan symbol on his blank shoulderpad.

Order Septim tore a bloody path through the enemy fortifications, the crude scrap-metal battlements teeming with Orks. Foul creatures emboldened by treachery within the Imperial ranks, they drew ever closer to the Imperial Fringe. Iron Captain Sul had ordered that their advance be halted before they spilled over that precipice. The snap of bolters set to burst-fire, the sharp hiss of plasma weaponry, and the mechanical thumping or clanging of cruder weapons resounded across this nameless world's plains. In the flatlands of the southern hemisphere, a Iburaani Land Raider bore a Breacher clave into the heart of the fighting, lascannons blazing, a direct, unsubtle attack on an enemy strongpoint.

The ramp of the machine fell down, followed with a hurricane of fully automatic bolter fire, the Vurgaan clansfolk having already selected their targets and firing solutions via tactical simulus in the passenger bay of their treaded steed. Steaming, bloodied corpses and broken wartrakks lay in a heap as they advanced. As for the survivors of the initial fusillade, they met only locked shields and further bolter or lascutter fire. The Iron Tenth's pitiless, grinding methods were on full display.

Still more Land Raiders and Rhinos came, each bearing reinforcements for the Breacher clave that had forced a foothold into the fortress. Order Septim's Heavy Support Squads laid enfilading heavy bolter fire upon Ork Boyz rushing out of the breach, while Clan Avernii Terminators in several marks of armour shoved past the Orks and descended into the dark interior of the fortress to conduct demolition operations on tellyportas, crude scrap-generators, and dakkajet hangars. It was warfare as it had been on the crusade, pure, bloody, and uncomplicated.
