Achilles-Alpha Land Raider, any experience?

Putting one together as a modeling project for my Black Legion. Anyone ever use one? Experience, thoughts?

They’re a pretty rare piece of kit! Weren’t bought in huge numbers even when they were in their heyday. You should document your building and painting journey on here bud - be good to see the hurdles and how you overcome them etc

I have one in my Night Lords Armored Battalion. It does pretty well. I like it better than standard Land Raiders with its 4++ and option for Indirect fire despite it being fairly weak. Its more of an oddity to see on the field than anything else. EDIT: I was checking the faction pack to see if by chance they had changed anything on it. I dont see it listed anymore. So I guess the New Recruit version is it for the time being until they update the pack. 

 

EDIT: 

I used one recently, see my 2nd armored Night Lords batt rep. It did outstanding and was likely the MVP of the game. The game only lasted 3 rounds and it took out a fire warrior(Wooo!), a Riptide, a Devilfish, and a Hammerhead all by itself and only the Devilfish using Oath of the moment/hatred or whatever the vet of the long war thing is called. It also managed to survive a full power blast by a lethal sustain S24 D12 -5AP multishot attack that did roll a 6 to hit plus the other shots that a Storm Surge threw at it thanks to the 4++ although I did have to CP reroll a save and it was down to 3 wounds by the end of the game.
