I think its only the wolves that says codex. And they still take units from codex space marines.

But im happy it looks like we will finally get something soonish. They did say "later in the year" so that could sadly mean a bit later.

3 new detachments? Cool. Hopefully all are usable.

I dont believe it will be vow related. Wonder what they could be!

Who really cares what it’s called?  I mean if you’re grabbing stuff from the main codex, they’re all a from of supplement.

I probable shouldn’t compare but Wolves have a good chunk of bad units, a few strong ones and will get the majority of their shooting from the main Dex…..sound familiar?

I played BT for many years and at the end of the day it always felt carried by strong infantry lead by strong characters. This might still be the case. Honestly I feel like we’re very close to a new edition or dramatic enough changes via SM codex 2.0.

BA have been top or near top of the SM meta a long time. It would be good to see BT really compete for that. Though I’m tired of everyone aside from BA just using the Gladius. BT will hopefully have a real detachment(s) to use.

Couldnt agree more. Especially about the Gladius part. One of main reason im not using that detachment.

Bt were strong at the start because of the tank detachment which just felt weird.

But that was one of the fluff strongpoints for BT in codex armagheddon. Massed infantry and massed armour, that's how the LR crusader was developped, for armour support in Hives

me - because i think thats THE main space marine problem. SW, BA, DA and BT should get their own codex books.

Like all other marines. BT are just famous for their infantry. Not that we dont have tanks. Yes we have created the Crusader but thats just so we can throw more infantry at them faster :p

not true - BT are famous for their mechanized warfare

2 Characters is already one more than I think most people were expecting, so even more would be pretty... odd.

Then again SW just got more models all at once than some factions had in multiple editions combined, so it's possible.

To be clear, I was expecting only one character. The only reason I'm entertaining the notion of more is because a certain rumor peddler has been suggesting for a while that there'd be more, possibly in stages.

Now two have been confirmed and revealed, while the peddler still seems to think there's more to come, he's at the same time decidedly short on specifics in comparison to the first two. So maybe? Or perhaps 'a later stage' means an upcoming model will be kept for 11th edition? We just don't know right now. Nothing in the article that revealed the ancient suggested there would another model to be revealed yet here we are.

Valrak is hearing different things so he is not sure which one to believe so thats why he is keeping it to himself so he doesnt tell something he doesnt believe in. Which i think is fine. Dont get peoples hope up for nothing.

I guess we will see on monday if we get more.

I am of the opinion that every Space Marines kit is a Black Templars kit (excluding librarians) so more is always welcome. What I do like of the new chaplain is the sword/crozius option, very Black Templar.

It could even be that while more is on the horizon it may not be up for release this release cycle. Unless something is revealed up including the tacoma showing i think its safe to say we've seen all coming with the codex release.

Well today they showed the cover picture for the new Black Templars Combat Patrol. It's not bad but I still prefer the previous one. You could get two of it ... this one, you could get two but you better sell off that second Emperor's Champion lol

A leak/rumor has emerged on Reddit but has now been removed as far as i know.

ill list them in qoutes with my thoughts on them below.

While we dont know anymore ill try to keep my thoughts on this short. I like some of it but a lot of it is not very exciting.

It said that we would lose Oath but gain Vows instead.

This is pretty cool. Oath is boring at the moment. Would love to see more seperation from the standard marines.

Helbrecht would lose his 5+ crits, but Marshalls would gain that instead.

Sad to see Helbrecht lose this. Hopefully he will get something cool in return. However this will make Marshalls very powerfull!

Sword Brethren lose their +1 dmg but gains a rule to make a reactive move when a unit falls back.

I presume they will have Mastercrafted Powerweapons so not the biggest loss. The +1 on the already d2 weapons and attached characters is a bummer though. But if my presumtion is correct i wont be too sad.

The Execrator datasheet was pictured showing the loss of oath but replaced by Templar Vows.

Sword option granting 3 Extra attacks with Lethal.

He had the Advance and charge rule as Warhammer Community said and a rule stating if his unit kills something in melee every enemy unit within 6" have to take a battle shock test.

Sounds pretty cool and thematic. Sad that he dont get the +1 to wound like normal chaplains, and battleshock rules are just lackluster. For some reason his Sword has Lethal?
