Reivers have done a ton of damage to the whole Space Marine aesthetic with their rubbery looking skull masks and helmets. Now almost all Chaplains with the exception of the initial hooded Primaris Chaplain and some of the named characters have these soft looking things instead of actual skull helmets. I don't want to hear excuses about "limited detail with plastic casting", if they can cast Chaos kits with pyramid shaped spikes sharp enough to poke your finger then they can cast some proper looking skulls with cheek bones and all those sharp edges on a Chaplain. Will probably just end up giving him the one from the upgrade sprue. Given that there's two top options, it doubtless follows the same pattern as those. But I agree, they could have had some unique detail from the back itself, hanging piece of parchment, or chains or candles. As for the cartoonish look, that's gonna have a lot to do with paint job. There's a ton of great models that suffer from the super clean painting presentation GW uses.
