As for the skull.. skull masks dont have to be painted in bone, did the same adjustment 3 years ago for the dark reapers and imho helps alot :

Love it. The Templars have such a phenomenal range. Hate to be greedy but I really hope there's a Terminator character or unit to come for them though

Templar's are really being treated well since '21, so it feels greedy to want for more... but this is the terminator refresh edition. I really wish for this to be true.

IIRC he said to expect two new models. There was the Ancient last week and now this guy, so I think that's it for Templar releases for now. Suppose it's possible we may see some extras once the end-of-edition narrative campaign starts up, though (presumably around the end of this year).

genuinely though, really like the sculpt - even the slightly mad bare head appeals - he truly looks like a zealot!

Honestly,  I love the cohesive design for this range.   Fingers crossed GW does th3 same thing and models Templar Brethren after the Mk VI Legion Champion

oh make no mistake, this is a fine model kit overall. I would assemble with a helmet on anyways, so it's all moot. just having fun with the unfortunately named uniit and silly head's expense.

Heads are ubiquitous between old marines and nu-marines. Helmets are a different matter, but this is a skull helmet and the the defining trait of the mk. X helmet (the slanted ear covers) hasn't been visible on either of the two primaris chaplains with fully visible helmets (this one or the bike chaplain) yet. 

 

Or to put it more succinctly: there are no primaris traits on either the Execrators bare head or the helmet.

Yeah. Aside from a terminator upgrade kit, I have a hard time seeing any more releases that would make sense for Templars. I don’t think there’s going to be a Templar terminator upgrade kit, but it’d be nice.

Even if there is im beginning to think more and more that the possible "multistage release" for templars that our rumor peddler heard of is just that. Next stage will likely be 11th if true

I'm not too big on the pose but overall I like it, didn't expect anything more than the Crusade ancient so it was a nice surprise. 

 

As for the skull helm, there have been better, but it's not bad and if one wished to replace it, it's an easy enough fix. I like the eyes of the bike chaplain more, so I might go with that head. Bud I've also got a head from the Dark Vengeance chaplain whose DA symbol I sanded off, plus the helm of the plastic clamshell chaplain from 2013 or so. That one would require some green stuff to fill out the neck joint though.
