Joe
Quote Warhammer is returning to Washington State in 2025! Come and join us for an amazing weekend filled with sneak peeks, gaming, shopping, and hobby events in the shadow of Mt. Ranier at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. WarCom Article. Event Link. First indication of when to expect the next preview event - anywhere between the 17th to the 20th. Sadly still tied to the competitive events. Thank you, Mike Brandt. Dark Shepherd
So Dark Eldar obvs, hopefully more than just the one leaked character. Strikes me as maybe too son for Wolf Scout killteam, but prob last chance for any Space Marine codex 2, though new marine.chapter character models youd expect to be shown Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386188-warhammer-preview-tacoma-open/#findComment-6118666 Share on other sites

But with the Spacemarine characters ( I still think its supplements in one form or another ) and KO coming before them I think its too early. On the other hand they call it sneak peaks, not reveals or a preview show.. so its possible they will just do some sneak peeks at the last year of the edition and thus also including dark eldar. On the other hand I think there is more dark eldar than just the codex, with 40k GNO in November being called into the webway ( and like I said before, its usually themed around the 40k narrative elements going on at the time and thus kill team/end of edition campaign.) and GW having had this open story submission with commoragh, armageddon and vigilus as the settings. small hints, but hints nonetheless. But I think Nova in august is the next real preview/reveal show myself. skylerboodie, Dark Shepherd and ZeroWolf 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386188-warhammer-preview-tacoma-open/#findComment-6118674 Share on other sites

Nova last year was forgettable : https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/NTHAS7Pc/the-warhammer-preview-show-nova-open-2024/ All it did for 40k was introduce is to a new era of roadmaps as 40k had its 3 months break afterwards. And it always bothered me how they show the sprue of lady malys but the one who has it didn't bother to assemble it or even show the box, like it happened with previous leaks such as dante. Come on... The way I understood it there was no box for it. The sprue had ended up in a bag of mixed sprues, that was sold, second hand, at a market of some sort. My guess is that’s also why the leak hasn’t been recognized by GW/revealed on warhammer community (as happened with Dante and Fuegan); since there is no official picture, or text, it’s just an anonymous sprue. (the same thing happened with the Lord of Poxes. Sprue leaked with no box, and was not officially revealed until some time later, once a suitable show rolled around) ZeroWolf 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386188-warhammer-preview-tacoma-open/#findComment-6118797 Share on other sites

Borbarad
For probably the first time, it feels like GW is sitting on a sizable backlog of previews they have yet to release. What ever they show in Tacoma will materialize in Fall if not Winter the earliest. Garrac
I already take for granted a Kill team box of Wolf Scouts, but, what will they be fighting then? Could be any faction at this point, and we don't have any solid rumours. There are , last video about kill team had : Exodites Grey knights vs Khorne Berzerkers ( yes despite goremongers release ) Deathwatch vs Necron Praetorians Lychguard + Skorpekh destroyers. Though valrak himself seems skeptical about it himself ( hard to link the video as im on mobile) For me its the details that seem off.. Skorpekh destroyers could be a case like the ratling team ogryns though.. an option, but not part of the set. ( its the same rumor source as them as well ) but Berzerkers implies going back to upgrade sprues for one side, not impossible ofcourse. But if the rumors are based on actual info i think all 5 are in the "yes, but actually its a bit different than that" category. irlLordy
From a lore perspective, it doesn't really seem likely that Triarch Praetorians, the closest thing the Necrons have to a police force would be working with kill crazy Skorpekh destroyers. They're up there with the Necron elite, so they don't seem like good candidates for a "swap in big guy" roster. I try to find the video, but I think I quoted the wrong necron unit, I think it was Lych guard, not praetorians.. so that part is less weird ( even though it still stands that, a Skorpekh does kind of fill a similar more elite role to an already rather elite unit. ) Its a disadvantage that I save all rumors as thumbnails for myself.. I used the shield lychguard and the name praetorian fits those a little too well ;) I will correct in my post. irlLordy and ZeroWolf 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386188-warhammer-preview-tacoma-open/#findComment-6119118 Share on other sites

killersquid
I hoping for some previews for Leauges of Votann, or this rumoured space marine 2nd wave. I play space wolves, I love space wolves. I find it weird they'd do wolf scouts in kill team after the codex, instead of before (like they've done for most other releases). I think it's more they are the team we've heard most about for the longest. 50/50 whether they actually turn into a new mixed 40K unit (as they are rumoured to have some kind of mini-psyker in there) or if that guy replaces the comms or helix adept in the standard Phobos squads. The most interesting thing would be if the new season is set of Armageddon, as that would be the perfect way to subvert all the expectations of getting a Catachan/Ork fighter, Grey Knight, World Eater Berserker or Space wolf teams given Kill Team's usual tendency towards theming. If Valrak is now saying that Marines 2.0 is only his speculation (and I’ve heard him say it both ways) then I would tend to think we are *not* getting a new Marines codex this edition. But it’s up in the air at this point, I guess. Very curious to see what the preview brings. TheMawr
The below response was written before the hats video, I leave it unchanged but, it does seem despite my skepticism that batch of rumors turns out to be true.. so Deathwatch vs Necron, Grey Knights vs Berzerkers and Exodites ( vs an as of yet unknown opposite ) seems to be half the season... with 3 still up for grabs. ( and implied that one of those 3 is wolfscouts, however, Im not so certain anymore.. thats already 4 rarer elite teams of wich 3 are spacemarines, I think wolfscouts might well be a season later if the 5 are exactly as rumored.) I wonder if the deathwatch side might be something suprising like an Inquisitor, 5 deathwatch marines and a Jokaero or something like that. I know people want and expect more a classic Deathwatch spacemarine team.. but remember, at the time when they where finalising the development on this they had decided to soup Deathwatch into Imperial agents, and the team might reflect that mentality. 3 hours ago, Tastyfish said: The most interesting thing would be if the new season is set of Armageddon, as that would be the perfect way to subvert all the expectations of getting a Catachan/Ork fighter, Grey Knight, World Eater Berserker or Space wolf teams given Kill Team's usual tendency towards theming. I hope the khorne berzerker rumor is some kind of mistake, not because I deny WE fans their wish, but because it heavily implies going back to one side being an upgrade sprue team (wich is a pity imho, even though there are advantages). As they wont replace the current berzerker kit yet and the other options are a little less likely and probably equally not exactly the new things WE fans want ; -- to follow the jackhals and eightbound, an Exalted berzerkers team, wich is more of the same but just more corrupted. -- A warhammer heroes Berzerker team (like plaguemarines), wich is either a way too early rumor or a repurposed abandoned WHH season. Beyond that though, that specific batch of rumors doesnt sound like Armageddon ( I dont think there are Exodites on armageddon, nor Necrons.. but the latter at least can be flexible, and Deathwatch could easily pop up too.) If I would gather a seasonal theme from the rumors : - Wolfscouts (different batch of rumors, different source) - Exodites - Grey Knights vs Khorne Berzerkers - Deathwatch vs Lychguard ( + Skorpekh destroyers ) Id feel that one of the missing two teams are an Ordo Hereticus related one and whatever they are up against, to make for a mass inquisitional incursion seasonal theme.. with wolfscouts and exodites being the 4th matchup. If indeed one side is upgrade sprue Id guess : Sisters of Battle ( upgrade ) vs new "Dark mechanicus" (perhaps ?) Berzerkers ( upgrade ) vs new "Grey Knights" ( I still think this is A grey knight, singular, maybe even terminator, with a retinue of .. something else.) Deathwatch ( upgrade ) vs new Necron destroyer cult infantry that is mistaken as Lych guard Wolfscouts ( upgrade ) vs new Exodites ofcourse if that would make up the season, the first box of the season will have 2 new teams... but most of all, lets hope they do not return to upgrade sprue teams. ( despite for the game and people's creativity.. they seem to be the stronger ones, I have seen more creativity with people representing those teams.)
