Hi everyone,

I'm a new member here and very happy to join this passionate and talented community. I’m mainly a 2D/3D artist and I’ve recently started a personal series of Warhammer 40,000-inspired projects for the summer. My goal is to mix my own artistic vision with the rich lore and aesthetics of the universe.

For my first post, I’ve shared a 3D artwork of a Harlequin Eldar standing triumphantly on the skull of a Tyranid creature — a reference to the legendary battles between Harlequins and Hive Fleet Hydra.

Feel free to visit my main site if you're curious about my other works: orgelf.com

Looking forward to sharing more soon and exchanging with fellow fans and artists!

All the best,
Jean-Pierre / Orgelf

Thanks for the kind words.

I created a topic last saturday at the hall of honor needing an approval of the team. It seems that nothing happened yet and as a new member  I can't send a message to a moderator of the section to have some informations about it. May be a moderator could help me ? thanks a lot.

I don't see any such topic pending approval. We're usually pretty quick about approving such topics, typically getting them approved and visible within a few hours or less (depending upon staff presence). If you can see the topic, please send me a PM with the URL. In fact, any time you need assistance and are unable to contact the Moderati, you are welcome to contact the administrators and we'll be happy to help.

Ok I see my topic with "pending approval" and I understand my mistake. When I submitted the topic the first time I saw at the top "your topic needs approval" and at bottom a sentence about a problem with an emoji but as there was the sentence at the top I thought it was ok. I removed the emoji and it works fine apparently.

Hi WBRBloom and Marius Pedro,

Apologies for the very late reply — I’ve only just come back to the forum properly and realized I never answered your kind welcome message. So thank you, even if it’s a month overdue!

To answer your question: yes, I’ve always had a strong love for surrealism, especially the kind you find in Dalí. Back when I was doing traditional drawing and painting (a long time ago now — I’m 51), I was also hugely influenced by Picasso.

I also admire painters like Odilon Redon, Bonnard or Vuillard and illustrators such as Moebius, to name just a few. More recently, I’ve developed a deep respect for 3D concept artists like Spiderzero, and I have to say that some RPG miniature paint jobs I’ve seen leave me absolutely speechless.

Hey @orgelf, Moebius is one of my favourite artists, I love his Incal series. It is strange that you did not mentioned Druillet and Salambo in the above list (not sure if you like Druillet, but my understanding is that you're from France so you probably know him), as I find his art really astounding.

From what I understand, a lot of his original art heavily influenced John Blanche and his art, which in turn shaped the 40k universe.

I definitely know Druillet , he is a true Legendary Pokémon. Long sloan for exemple. I discovered his artwork when I was a teenager and was very impressed back then .

I totally forgot the work of John Blanche until I read your post and made a google research. It reminded that I saw his works many many years ago, thanks for that .
