It would be absolutely hilarious and just my luck if they show off either Exodites, Corsairs or Drukhari at this preview.. especially if its MULTIPLE of them.

 

Because.. Im absolutely unable to watch it live at that date.. in fact, I even have only small chances to read the article until the 21st...

I really think all the hats are just the chaos dwarfs tease. They're the big hat meme faction. I doubt every hat's a clue. But that would be pretty fun.

Maybe exception is the first Deathwatch cap.

1st.  Cap with deathwatch symbol
2nd. Astronaut
3rd. Egyptian head dress
4th. Tricorn
5th. Top hat ( not too big is it )
6th. Wizard/Witches hat
7th. Excesively bigger top hat
8th. Harlequin hat
9th. Pirate hat
10th. Cowboy hat

 

I made bold to differentiate who wore the hat ( might be a clue in itself, but probably not.)

 

1 is kill team, my guess is the other side being 3, 8 or 10 ( with wich I mean; Necron, Harlequins or Exodites vs Deathwatch )

 

2. is Leagues of Votann, obviously

 

3. is Necron if 40k and then probably kill team (as per rumors) or end of edition campaign stuff, otherwise its Tzeentch for AoS (less likely), or Tomb Kings for TOW ( very possible )

 

4. likely goes with 9. the rumored Corsairs release to kick off the end of edition campaign ( or the huron blackheart to do the same, maybe both )

 

5. Is Chaos dwarves for AoS.. mostly because of 7

 

6. could be almost anything, if AoS I'd take it quite literal, if 40k I take it references psykers I guess ?

 

7. Is chaos dwarves for AoS, not because of the type of hat, but because the context of bigger hat = better

 

8. The obvious one would be Harlequins, however, it could also be (more likely) a Flesheaters court Jester or representative of the Necron deceiver for the End of edition campaign.

 

9. likely goes with 4

 

10. The only reference I can think of is Exodites, because the reference to being dinoriding space elf cowboys is often made, including by Jes goodwin.

Exodites come from the rumor source that had said Deathwatch vs Necron... but 3 kill teams ?  Only if its one regular box and one special one like Ashes of Faith.

While typing, I guess it could also be COW boys... and that its either hashut or Lumineth for AoS... this is more likely perhaps

I think Deathwatch, Leagues of Votann, and Necrons are quite likely with the first 3 hats, and maybe Dark Eldar with the Pirate hat, but I really have no idea about all the rest. Wizard obviously seems fantasy, but beyond that...just what could the Tricorne, Top hat, and Bowler hat be a reference to? I can't think of anything even slightly similar to those.

Maybe it's a red herring and all the hats aren't meant to be for something specific, but it does seem like at least some of them are meant to be a thing.

pharoh hat- tomb kings 

tricorn- tricky, not sure, corsairs maybe?

top hat(s)- chaos dwarves

wizard hat- tricky, not sure 

jester hat- harlequins

pirate bicorn- dark eldar?

 

could be a lot of pointy ears coming for 40k
