So I'm clearly using the wrong Abominable Intelligence - I put this in:

...and got these back :blink::huh::facepalm:

...just... How?? Why?!!?  I can *sort of* see how it got the first image (I used the phrase 'Warhammer Art' in my prompt), but for the second (I just put 'turn this picture into an illustration')..?!

Old friend, do I have your permission to run that awesome image through mine for you please?  I've developed a rapport with the Machine Spirit of Copilot.  You and Brother Osteoclast showed me, best use is NOT of just a mini, but in some sort of battle scene, like in a battle report or a diorama.

I would recommend checking out the app Nauk Nauk. Stumbled across it while looking at Gundam stuff. It's app specifically for animating toys and models with AI.

Certainly @N1SB, please feel free to try - I'm very interested to see your results, thank you in advance!

A few missing details, but the thing that cracks me up is that it's using the old Space Crusade Necrons.  And there's 1 running away.

The one running away is basically me, isn't it.  I failed my Ld check or something.  Dude looking at me is clearly judging me.

But now I join in what Brother Antarius and others pointed out, the AI art...as accurate as it is (which will improve in about a month or two)...is not as interesting as your original photo.  You already set up an awesome diorama!  This would actually look really good for an '80s RPG, but can't improve on what you actually made.

+++ But I can do this in my local store's Crusade campaign games +++

My meta loves Crusade campaigns.  And there's always some MVPs, breakout stars, local legends.

I could go watch a game and take a photo for the guys while they're concentrating on playing, do AI art for them.

You guys know how I love my local meta more than the game itself?  I could hang out, take photos of epic moments, like when in I think our 1st 9th ed Crusade a Space Wolf Rune Priest held off a Bloodthirster.  AND YES, everyone called it "You Shall Not Pass!"  It's quick, it's impromptu, something to put on our Facebook page.

It's a fun way to be a Remembrancer for our local meta.  I do think that's something guys would appreciate, like their characters getting immortalised.

+++ The Big Paradox of AI art in Warhammer (maybe AI art vs. Warhammer) +++

I've said before Warhammer's biggest selling point is that it's an alternate to screens?  Like it can tear us away from smartphones, PCs, etc.

Well, AI art does bring us back to the screen.  Thus Warhammer AI art, as cool as it is especially with conversions maybe, it dilutes it.

GW minis, for all their faults like being too expensive, ARE really good.  Like during Finecast, maybe AI art can improve.  Not now.

Or maybe it'd represent Imperial propaganda art, maybe.  That'd explain why all Marines appear as Mk VII, like that's just traditionally how painters portray Marines, it's sacrilegious to draw them any other way.  But at this point I'm starting to think just trying to reproduce minis into an image is a downgrade (from 3D to 2D, at least).

Update - I thought about it, decided to ask Copilot to turn it into a stained glass window.  Like an Ecclesiarchal cathedral commemorating this awesome victory over the Necrons...but the artist never actually saw the battle, had to rely on Guardsmen describing a Dreadnought to him:

Also, definitely gonna check out that Nauk Nauk app.  But what I really love is your conversion tbh, great use of the Redemptor chassis.

I think that looks great - kind of cinematic in a way - but you're right, the fleeing Necron is amusing

That is wonderful!  That is exactly the sort of thing I'd be looking to use in write-up for narrative/Crusade campaigns at our gaming group!

Thank you - I'll give it a look; and thank you for your kind words about my Dread

.. Im really out of a job soon arent I ? XD

I closed down my patreon a year or two ago and started going to college for a career change.  That was really a long time coming and not directly related to AI, but I've seen loras on CivitAI for replicating my art style and some of my characters.

Don't worry, I'm not taking liberties, but just to give you an alternate look.  I asked it to make it Ecclesiarch art.  It added a halo on its own.

The broader theme is, I do think this sort of take is what using AI art might actually be useful for, like in-universe art.

That's a BEAUTIFUL paintjob completely ignored by the AI.  If you don't mind me trying something on my end, pls let me know.  If nothing good comes up, I'll still let you know.

Hope you don't mind me giving your image a go with ChatGPT.

I really like this use of AI from a personal use perspective. It's not something I would ever have spent actual money on with a pro, and it's a cool way to add some stuff to my models' head-canon. Can definitely see some fun uses for group crusade, campaign or Necromunda sessions.

Issue is of course when people start to use this stuff for commercial purposes which DOES take away from a skilled artist. Sadly it's something that seems increasingly common.

Now we have to come up with a list of what pizza each of the Chaos gods would order…

Obviously Khorne would have an all meat pizza, substituting the marinara sauce for blood.

Don't mind at all and damn my boy looks good!

And agreed it's good fun, but I have friends who are digital artists and have been seeing their work ripped off by AI for a number of years without any recognition or payment.

You think that's weird... my Warboss appears to be invading someone else's diorama. Those aren't my models he's attacking!

Brother Yncarne, I had to 1st commune with the Machine Spirit to really bring out YOUR paintjob (had to specify in prompt):

EldarFalcontankwi.thumb.png.25835d923d80991481c121f74e536a37.png

It didn't really understand runes.  I've actually tested Copilot on Chinese before...its Chinese might be is better than mine.  But not Eldar runes.

Is that a helmeted head in the middle of the turret?

I've also noticed the hull fins on the far side look more like unsettling insect legs now.

The helmet was interesting, as the Copilot AI expected a turret gunner there, "You Warhammer players like that on your Vehicles, right?"

But it was the legs on that 1 side that disturbed me.  Happens with every iteration before this, too.  But it's a case of, by next month, it could fix things like that by itself.
