"Buy a 3D printer" isn't a practical solution at the moment, just to head that one off.

Ok, so what I want is to get some Paravane pattern helmets for my 1st legion. There's a lot of legally-distinct 3rd party DA stuff out there you can buy, but it's almost all designed for primaris or designed in ways I don't like aestheically, and absolutely none of it looks like the Paravane helms from the Black Books. FW used to sell a set of them, but I see they've quietly disappeared from the GW store at some point.

Now, you can get STLs for a very similar type of helmet on Cults3D, but they're not for sale pre-printed anywhere, so I'm stumped on how to get hold of any.

I know there are UK companies that print miniatures from STLs, but I have no idea what's good in the market or how the licensing works.
Any pointers?

Speak to Dragoon Gaming https://dragoongaming.co.uk/

They have done some custom work for me and prints are amazing quality and they should be pretty switched on about licensing and what they can/can't print.

Also checkout https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CTMiniaturesUK

They have also done custom work for me and even adjusted some designs (removed hands from axes, removed axe-heads from handles and added holes to accommodate pinning).

I would say Dragoon print at a higher definition, they have up-scaled weapons to JoyToy size and the print quality was stunning.

You might also see if there is a local business in your area that can do the work for you. I found one about 5 minutes from my house, nestled in a small shopping center. It's possible that there are similar businesses near you.

The easiest way would be to have a friend with a 3d Printer in your group.

Or you could ask around in your local nerdstore etc.

fiverr.com also has commission Printers available

I used a chap called Ben M on fiverr to get some Dreadnought sized Bladeguard shields printed a couple of months back. Had no issues and he kept me updated constantly throughout.

Gator 3d is a uk based one ive used and was very happy with

Shapeways seems to have made a return, though they were hugely expensive the last time I checked (but that was before their bankruptcy) They removed UFD for powder based printing, so there is nothing better than FDM. I wouldn't recommend this for helmets unless you want a goop head. You could also check with some of the members here that do 3d printing. I'm currently taking a break from it, or I'd offer to help.

Cults does partner with 3d printing services, so check that as well. No idea how good they are, but they advertise that you can contract for a print from various providers.
