So my search fu is quite week.  What i am looking to do is update the old Bjorn model. I held of in the hopes we would be getting a new model but that does not seem likely now.

Anyway i have ordered the Space wolf dreadnought box and i have a HH Leviathan model.  I was hoping that i could add the Bjorn panels and the wolf pelts to that along with the power claw. Has anybody attempted this or seen examples?  Also after taking the claw/Bjorn panels, wolf pelt i believe i could still make a Ven or murderfang dreadnought?

Also if that fails then i will get a redemptor and try the panels and claw on that.  Which would be easier? i feel the redemptor however as the leviathan is an older and rarer chassis it just seems that would be something the great Bjorn would have.

Hmm...this would be challenging indeed considering the panels are made for a smaller model then the Redemeptor. I've made a couple Bjorns in my hey day so some bits would be easier to kitbash then others. The panels will need to be modified by cutting or sanding down edges. You could swap bits between the Redeemptor and the Brutalist such as the talon claws for the left powerfist and leaving the heavy gatling cannon/plasma cannon on the right side to make it more authentic like Bjorn's chassis. The center guns could either be heave bolters or multi meltas given Bjorn's preference for melting things up close. Replace the anti-air pepper box on the top with Bjorn's totem from the base model. Use green stuff to mold fur over the shoulders and slap one of those SW venerable dreadnaught storm shields on the back for added coolness.

Overall I think you would have an easier time modifying the Redemeptor then a Levithan since those things are some what round-ish and big.

I agree the Levithan is more rounded.  One option might be to make some green-stuff moulds from the Panels you want and before they're full cure, superglue them to the Levithan, this should allow you to create a bit of a curve that might be enough.  Or take a mould just of the detail from the panels and use that so it's more like a raised details you get on a shoulder pad.

Having built all of the kits - I'd recommend starting with the redemptor as a base, unfortunately none of the really nice ornate stuff from the castraferrum kit easily fits on the bigger scale model. The pelts do fit pretty handily on shoulders etc. Might be worth exploring some brutalis bits (just not the stubbers, Bjorn has standards)

I've seen some great Bjorn proxies built on the Redemptor chassis whilst searching for kitbash inspiration for my own non-wolves proxy, all using the ornate armour from the Castraferrum version. One even has the plasma cannon converted to a Helfrost cannon. These are the ones that I had bookmarked.

A fair bit of the SW dread can be used and/or adapted for use on the redemptor dread with a bit of greenstuffing.

If you're interested follow this link to my thread from a while ago. Scroll down a wee bit and it shows all the building and converting i did on my SW successor dread. Might give you a few ideas!

Whatever you do, best of luck and i look forward to seeing your work! :)

Cheers, GM
