So I created this thread, merged and decided it did need its own thread and not with the 40k Loyalist- so it has Returned

So with my house under construction my paint area is now a storage area.  I did pick up Age of Darkness, and a FW Raven Guard Contemptor and Dark Furys.  My friend and I are splitting the special weapon set, and I purchased a plastic Sicaran. This weekend I preordered the Autocannon/ Lascannon/ Volkite Culverin weapon set (to split with my friend) , 2 sets cards and my other heavy weapons (Missile Launcher/ Heavy Bolter).  One of the FB members had NIB Corvus Corax, Mor Deythan, Dark Fury, and 2 Mk VI shoulder pads for sale so I scoped them up. And pulled the Storm Eagle I got in trade many years ago out of storage and ordered another 40 more MK VI marines. Still another contemptor, a leviathan, and a another Sicaran.

And well here are pictures.

:cuss: scale creep

blurry photo but both 15 man tactical squads built

Plus since I am going all MK VI I need to modify tank crews

and gotta love patches and dice trays

You know one day I'll have my house repaired/ construction and be able to paint again....but that is not anytime soon.

So with a few days off (rarity thanks to being short handed at work) I was able to continue building my Raven Guard for HH.

So I completed the the turret and sponson weapos for the Sicaran

So I decided to start on my plastic Contemptor from AoD box, before heading to lunch with a friend (that ended up rescheduled for next day)

Where I ended up on my RG Contemptor

Up next I started adding spacers to increase their height to my old Cataphractii Terminators from BaC box set.

and started some basic basing too

So now I Have Praetor, Warmonger, Primus Medicae, 15 Deliverers, 2 15 man tactical, Contemptor, and Sicaran built. Still waiting on special weapons for my 2 tactical support squads, and have spartan to build and I have some stuff coming in soon for next projects (another 40 Mk VI marines Heavy Weapons , FW stuff, and more)

It's all so beautiful

Also now I think I want a Sicaran.... Damn it War!

Its such a pretty model...I need second one sicaran, predators, kratos and rhinos for Tank Gangster games

This past weekend's build

Spartan Land Raider

I then continued long task of basing (Galeforce 9 barb wire, coffee stir sticks, Citadel skulls, corkboard and Vallejo Grey pumice)  15 Deliverers, 30 Tactical marines,  Praetor, Warmonger Consul, Primus Medicae Consul, Contemptor, and Storm Eagle's base

I was able to score all this NIB FW stuff on one of the many RG FB groups.

and I picked up another 40 Mk VI marines

I have more stuff coming in soonish like some shoulder pads, more FW stuff, Totruga bodies.....etc

Great work! How'd you the like the Spartan build? Did you magnetise?

Corax....oooh.... I really need to build mine

Spartan build was a mild pain. My buddy and agree that you should probably build the one track side then attach the hull to it instead of trying to build both sides then adding the hull and trying to get everything to fit.  It does have the sponsons for the  Typhon/ Cerberus versions. Plus coolest  tank commander bits..... 3d map and Nintendo switch. Mine has the Switch for reasons to be seen later

I did not magnetize it, due to laziness, but it would be easy to magnetize lascannons/ Heavy Bolter/ Heavy Flamer.

Totruga bodies are here.....but have not started on their projects yet. FW Order is being odd thanks to UPS not accepting signed "sorry we missed you" form and gave me a new blank one :wallbash:. Did get my half Support squad in exchange for half my Autocannon/ Lascannon/ Volkite Culverin box from my friend @Entropomancer. I did purchase my Heavy bolters and Missile Launchers too.

So what did I build this weekend:

So since I was trade half my heavy weapons off I need to build my Lascannon

and Autocannon Squads

then I started on my 10 man Seeker squad....

sgt

Seekers are waiting for their FW Helmets.....come on UPS

and started build first Rotor Cannon of 5 guys

And Finally weekend build photos

That's weird

Like the upgrade bits to the bolters (although personally I'm not a fan of that HH design generally) where are they from?

I also really dig that underslung auto cannon... Shame there isn't a 40k equivalent

Whens the painting start? :teehee:

-Scopes, box magazines, and mag clamped magazines Anvil Industries

-Knives- Cadian iirc

-Grenades- SM kit of some type (Assault marines maybe)

-Pouches- incursors/ Infiltrators

-Sgt head- reiver

Autocannons are great.....remember when scouts had autocannons as a heavy weapon choice......I do for 1 edition

Hopefully soon its should be cooling down this month and with Proteus (Ride for my Seekers)  going on preorder this week, I already have a huge backlog for my Raven guard.  I am planning to get my 1500 pt list painted and start playing by end of year. So some units will be built and waiting paint for a little while.

So last weeks arrivals:

little bits are raven skulls for Knee pads...super tiny

Proteus Land Raider preordered from GW with Warhammer+ Voucher.

Projects

Added Heads to my Seeker squad, some green stuff tubes and did a lot of basing.

and well built more models- 5 man Rotor cannon, 5 man Plasma rifle, 5 man Melta gun and Master of Signals

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...
  • 5 months later...

Update - Well started working on some models again and buy working on models I mean buying.   And @duz_ Yes I will eventually paint stuff.

I do have some models on in the early stages of building and will have photos next week. I also have a HH 1500 pt game Saturday against my friends Iron Warriors.

I purchased the Space Marine Boarding patrol when it was on preorder and I was gonna do them up as Blood Angels. I have decided I'm and with the marines from Leviathan I will be doing them as Ravenguard.  So lots of Raven Guard projects (10th ed, HH, Raptors 10th co)  in my future amongst the Adepta Sororitas, Grey Knights, and Inquistion projects.

Edited by WAR

So my HH Ravenguard are now 0-2, I had to call game as I was out of units that could hurt the Kratos and Contemptor Dreadnought. Dark Furies are wrong, and after engaging in 2 different melees were shot at be multiple units. I need assault marines to screen them. Seekers died horribly but they are a feared unit.

After getting home from GF's house yesterday I started working on reorganizing my HH Parts.

Current Projects I need to start:

2 5 man Cataphractii Terminator Squad

1 10 man Caraphractii Terminator Squad.

1 Proteus Land Raider

1 Sicarian (#2)

1 Spartan  (#2)

Assault Marines (waiting on 5 sets of arms and backpacks from Battlebling, 10 legs from Tortuga)

2 5 man Recon Squads

1 5 scout squad

3 Sabre Tanks

1 Contemptor Dreadnought (#2)

Corvus

So Current Projects I am working on

Praetor with Raven Claws and Corvid Jump Pack

Body is Tortuga, Arms Shoulder pads, Jumpack FW, Head GW

10 man Dark Furies

Tortuga bodies FW the rest. (only 2 Choosers of the Slain)

And Mor Deythans No picture

Tortuga bodies, PGtM Weapons, Rest FW/ GW

So Far 5 of 10 built.

From someone with significant experience with Heresy 2.0: You want to have enough Cataphractii to run at least 10 Deliverers, preferably up to 15 if you can swing it.

They are SO good it's scary. Consensus among my play group is they are the best terminator unit in the game. Battle hardened means they can't be Instant Deathed by S8 or S9 (they can take a wound from a lascannon and be fine), and they get a pair of Raven's Talons for 10 points, with which they can kill dreadnoughts in exchange for losing maybe 2 guys. Rending (5+) with Shred is really good when you have 50+ attacks at WS5.

Oh, and they have Deep Strike built into their rules, so you don't need to spend the points on a Spartan to transport them.

Did I mention they can take multimeltas?

Trust Claws and build Deliverers. You'll be glad you did.

I have 15 Deliverers built 2 MM and 1 reaper  but I have another 20 Cataphractii so I could exchange it for another MM.  And I need to start shaving Sons Horus Runs off for the Praetor for my Deliverers

plus I ordered a Cerebus today.

Edited by WAR

I plan on getting a Cerberus too. But I think it's going to the Iron Hands.

I'm planning on doing enough Iron Hands to run one Legion as a primary detachment and the other as allies, with the ability to flip who is where.

I'm also giving my Shadowsword to the Iron Hands for 3500+ point games.

Because a superheavy with 12 hull points that can't be one shot killed and has an Iron Father fixing it every turn as well as a 5+ IWND just sounds mean. Especially when you consider that the volcano cannon basically automatically penetrates every armor value I've seen yet. (S14, rolls 3d6 and discards the lowest for armor pen. The lowest possible result is 16. Even a flare shield is no help against it)

  • 6 months later...
