What do you consider to be "Mission Rules" for the purpose of special rules like what a Drop Pod has?

* What is on the Mission cards

* What is on the Mission Pack that govern all the Mission cards

* Something else?

The context here is Nachmund Gauntlet Crusade book. The army you use is split into Primary and three Reinforcement Waves, two of which can be used. One arrives T2, the other T3. This is the Tactical Reserve rule that governs how things arrive.

A Drop Pod has to begin the game in Reserve, so it has to be a part of a Reinforcement Wave. I believe it can arrive at T1 as I consider the Tactical Reserve rule to be no different than the restricted you see in Matched Play games. The campaign organiser believes a Drop Pod only supersedes what it on the Mission Cards as the Tactical Reserves restrictions is a "Crusade rule".

The issue with that is that there hasn't been a single Mission Card rule that a Drop Pod's special rule overrides, that it's a Crusade Mission pack with Crusade Mission Rules (even listed as such on earlier books), the "Crusade Rules" are actually in the Leviathan expansion, and as mentioned, if this interpretation was correct, Pods wouldn't be permitted ot arrive T1 in tournaments, etc.

However, in the absence of RAW we have to look at RAI. Rapid Ingress is specifically been disallowed which implies GW want Reinforcement Waves to arrive at the same time.

Sorry, that ended up being a bit of a rant. Any thoughts?

I'm totally with you...that's what a Drop Pod is for!  Nachmund is all about Deep Strike and Jump Packs, Drop Pods make perfect sense there.

I almost feel sorry for the campaign organiser.  He's like a judge trying to call balls & strikes fairly, but even he knows the law is badly written.

But his contention is Drop Pods don't fit into Mission Rules?  I thought the Reinforcement Wave WAS a Mission Rule...for all Nachmund Missions.  Like the list-building stuff such as how you can give Named/Epic characters upgrades in Nachmund (couldn't before), those are Campaign Rules.  Reinforcement Waves are just a recurring Mission Rule...is what I thought.  Edit - I'm also not the 1st guy I'd ask for rules.

I think this might be a case you have to write to that GW email address for rules clarification, and it should be on your side.
