For me any time a flamer overwatches me it’s devastating. If it’s one little flamer, or a dozen, or a heavy flamer, or a pair of inferno cannons.

 

i overwatch with flamers? Nothing.

 

and I’ve learned spending a CP to reroll a 1 always results in a 1.

This is almost like it's a universal scientific law - happens to me, and I see it happen all the time to everyone at my gaming group :sweat:

 

I've been on the receiving end of several first turn scouting charges, and 'rapid ingress' type charges from Deep Strike. Can I ever pull off those type of manoeuvres?

My dice rolls, and/or my opponent's use of their army's abilities and/or strats usually thwarts any hope I have of achieving those sort of dramatic first turn strikes or counter-strikes :whistling:

Dice in general. I am ridiculously bad rolling dice. Many of my opponents have commented on it over the years that dice really ruined my game. And yes, I have tried tons of different dice. And it happens across different systems and in board games too. Honestly, I screw up statistics, I tell ya. :)

Statistical averages work against me. I can sometimes make up my incredibly bad dice rolling with experience and pretty decent tactics, but any real tournament I've been in has seen my average rolling be considerably bad- I might get two out of twenty 5+ invuln save rolls for my Knights.

This exact thing with my Lokhust Heavy Destroyer. Every time I roll a one to hit with the Gauss Destructor a command re-roll will inevitably result in another 1 an if it's not the hit roll it's the wound roll (at east that's free).

Conversely the command re-roll always comes up trumps when re-rolling the number a hits for my Doom Stalker, 5s and 6s all the way.

Free rerolls on a 1 I can often convert, just the command rerolls for me lol

I've seen them do great work on the tabletop, but I've named mine Church (Red vs Blue reference) because he can't hit the broad side of a freaking barn. After he missed all 6 of his shots in the first game I ran him in, I started tracking how well he did. Over 5 games, counting re-rolls, he's made 32 shots and rolled TWENTY-FIVE 1's. I ran the math on that, the odds of rolling that many 1's is 3.3e-14, or 0.000000000000033%
