Tallarn Commander
This looks like a fun project. Are the front wheels from the Necromunda Ridgehauler? They are indeed! I can't quite remember how but I ended up with one of the trailers that use the same wheel sprue. Brother Anderson
I did some more work on the Taurox last night and I think I'm ready to call the build complete. I'm my head it's a second line transport and logistics vehicle, the kind used by PDF forces when they can't get their hands on an IFV like the chimera. I used two layers of 3mm foamed PVC to get the extended track section to line up with the wheels and they looked a bit odd, so I added running boards to the side out of foamed PVC and added some diamond plate plasticard for a bit of visual variety. The actual conversion wasn't too bad, so I'll likely pick up another Taurox to do the same thing to before I forget how to do it! As always any C&C is most appreciated! YoungWolf7
Looks a lot better than the stock Taurox. I always thought it was a goofy and impractical vehicle. Urauloth
That's awesome. Way cooler than the basic taurox. Brother Anderson
Thanks again everyone! Because I can't leave well enough alone, in addition to picking up another Taurox to convert a second transport vehicle I've also picked up a Malcador to convert for a game I've got coming up soon. I like the Rogal Dorn but for me it doesn't fit the aesthetic of my particular army, so I have converted what I've christened the Rogal MalcaDorn: I definitely can't take credit for the idea as I saw a few when I googled a turreted Malcador, but I think the vanquisher turret on the longer chassis works pretty well. It could easily have been converted as a Leman Russ too; I added one barrel of the minigun from the Taurox Prime to the front but you could more easily do the same with a heavy bolter or flamer. I took inspiration from the "drilling" configuration AA guns from the second world war for the triple heavy stubbers that are mounted on the pintle, I'm not convinced by how it looks but I'm hoping I'll change my mind once it's painted. Next stop, enamels! Tallarn Commander
Nice. I love your Rogal Malcadorn. And your Drilling heavy stubber looks great with the 3rd barrel. During casual games perhaps you could explain its WW2 origins to opponents and perhaps implement a house rule that it wounds flyers on a 2+. Next stop, enamels! It's like the MG151/20 ground mount or the triple DShK. That's pretty good. The Valdor hull with a turret looks great. I agree about the Rogal Dorn comments. I feel like it doesn't really fit the Guard range in general, it looks way better when converted to a casemate assault gun.
