jaxom
Anyone have products from AK or Scale 75 they really like/recommend? Gamers Guild AZ is having a clearance and a bunch of it is paint, inks, pigments, weathering pencils, etc. Helias_Tancred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386290-ak-and-scale-75-preferred-products/ Share on other sites
Sky Potato
The AK gen 3 acrylics are an awesome paint range, really highly recommended. The AK diarama texture paste stuff is similar to all the other texture paints on the market, so if it’s on sale and cheaper than the equivalent, it’s worth it. All the Scale 75 metallics I’ve tried have been really really good. Avoid the old style lids though, they crack. The old lids have three pronounced, stylised lugs and a moulded in Scale 75 logo on top. The new lids are just plain dropper top bottles that look like Vallejo etc. It’s not an issue if you get the old lids, Scale 75 will mail you free replacement lids at no charge if you email them. Evil Eye
Yeah Scale75 metallics are fantastic, highly recommend those. I've also used AK's black and white paint pens, both of which are really good, especially for touching up primer where you might have missed a little bit. One of my pots from them has lasted for something like 200 minis and it is only about halfway done... Great stuff! Antarius
I really like AK’s off-whites and off-blacks (basically, all their colours that are nearly black/white), to the point that I don’t think I’ll be using anything else for white and black in the future. WBRBloom
I've been using AK for some years now. They must be the best colours I've ever used, both on coverability and pigmentation. Their black must be the blackest, most matt black I've ever seen (I'm not comparing it to vantablack or black 2.0/4.0 and stuff, that thing's for cars only). The AK pastes and weathering powders, basing pastes and enamels are amazing. Never used scale 75 unfortunately.
