I thought that Felblades would be a no-brainer and made a long shot guess at Artillery and the Typhon / Cerberus… whodathunk that the shot in the dark would be money and the forgone conclusion wouldn’t make it.

I will be heavily investing into Legions Imperialis in the following months before GW pulls the plug.

I was just thinking “uh oh” when I saw that book announced! Similar to the Titanicus one.
Still, can’t wait to see what updates it brings for the armies. And finally have Mastodons too.

Loving the new tanks.  Whirlwinds are superb, hopefully we will soon see a 28mmm version.

I’m getting really angry about the lack of fellblades and falchions now though, this is deliberate provocation

To be fair, titanicus is still supported for years after gw brought out the compilation books.

They’re not canceling the game. It’s way too new and there’s a lot that they still haven’t released.

I understand that the Titanicus Compendium was the last large publication for that system, but they do still continue to support it in some way, shape or form with new weapons, new models and occasionally new rules. If anything, this is to condense all of the various rules from what now? Four books? Into one comprehensive document that includes the updates from the long awaited FAQ / Errata that they recently released.

For some reason in LI GW seems to want there to be basically no overlap between Solar Auxillia and Astartes.  My guess is they think Fellblades are too close to baneblades and variants.

I do have a feeling that we will see Felblades sooner than later. They may be a part of whatever book these will be released in (I’m assuming an Isstvan campaign) and they want to keep some releases a surprise.

To me the turnaround on the book so soon feels more like a response to peoples anger at being expected to buy multiple splatbooks in addition to the core, rather than a sign the game is being quietly squatted.

I wonder what else might be in that book.  It would not surprise me if there were other units that they will announce later but still before the book comes out.  Also look how many things were in the core book that were not released at the same time.

I still hope we see more new infantry, but time will tell.

Thanks,

Duncan

In the past waves usually consisted of 6 kits, so I'm expecting we'll see a Fellblade and Glaive as well in this run to round it out.

Yup, the book is a must buy. Great news, hopefully a well needed balancing is achieved.

Cool to see more tanks, need those Fellblade, Glaive and Falchions though...

The book is the sleeper hit of this preview (the Whirlwinds and Vindicators my actual faves – what took you so long, lads?)

I loathe ‘splatbooks’. Absolutely detest the idea of breaking up a single armylist across half a dozen books, so voted with my wallet by simply ignoring them. I can kinda understand them for something like 40k, or AoS, which have been ticking along for years, but for GW’s boxed games, which almost by definition should be a bit more self-contained and less ambitious in scope, it just comes across as anti-consumer.

This preview, of a book that contains the actual complete army lists for every army in the game, and notes in a quiet phrase that they’ve been rebalanced? Well, that to me says that this is the version that has benefited from all the early adopters, and has every potential to be worth picking up.

I really want to like Legions more than I do; I hope this release finally gives me the reason to do so.

(also, Whirlwinds – awesome!)

We've often seen this kind of compendium-ing just before meaningful support stops entirely... fingers crossed that's not the case.

They are still getting my monies for that book though

Maybe splatbooks followed by a compedium is just a cycle they do now. We might see the HH rules from the Journals compiled and rebalanced into compediums every so often.

My feeling: extrem disapointment.
Yes we have (few) new minis and tanks. But very few, not even super heavy for SM, nothing for mecha nor solar.
No new army, which is a big let down. (hello golden boys?). Just a book? Hey, 2025 here, online army points and rules is a thing everywhere!

For me, that shows that GW doesn't want any further main development for the game. At most, a tank here and there, and that's it.

I'm genuinely happier about the compendium than the model previews. Finally a place where I can find a complete-ish army list. This is what I've been waiting for for a while  . I know what my next painting project will be now

Unless there is more, I'm not going to be pulled in by this wave, my main force is Solar Auxillia and I'm not interested in expanding my Astartes without Fellblades and more infantry options.

Hopefully the book stays in print, If it replaces the army lists and is one run and gone it'll be a real barrier to new players.

I suspect it will stay in print. After all, the AT compendium are also still in print. I'd sooner expect the individual books to go away once their contents has been completely collected in the various compendium books. Again, similar to AT, I do have to admit that there is also a decent amount of hope/wishing involved in that scenario though.

It's good to see more LI stuff but for me I'm less interested in astartes and more interested in Mechanicum and AT.

I hope at some point for Ordinatus that could be used in AT too. Or some more titans obviously.

I will be getting that book though.

Cheers
