Drukhari and Webstore Weirdness?

The person who got the sprue got it in a bulk purchase of several sprues sans boxes. And they were too unsure about the legality of it all, to actually assemble or paint it, once it was revealed what it was, and how unique it was.

 

on GW’s side I assume the reason why they haven’t showed off the official model (like they did with Dante and Fuegsn, after they leaked) is because it’s just a pic of an anonymous sprue at the moment. There’s no proof of what it actually is, and as such there’s plausible deniability from the company’s side.

No reason for them to reveal it earlier than they want to. (We saw the same thing with the Lord of Poxes, who leaked with just a sprue, and GW silence, until they had a fitting reveal show in which to show it off (unlike Dante&Fuegan, which leaked with full box art and everything)).

 

I don’t know what to make of the Drukhari-thing, either.

It really wouldn’t make sense to release a codex without a wave of model support, after this point in the edition (Gk&BT are cutting it close, but they’re still about a full year ahead of the edition change, and IK seems obviously to have been delayed for some reason, and never planned to be released this late).

But who knows?

We’re probably too far out from the dex for them to start revealing any models anyway. They usually keep focus on the next 1-2 upcoming releases, to max out the hype. So I’m guessing we won’t be seeing any Drukhari hints before Votann and/or the SM characters are on pre-order.
