Inquisitor_Lensoven
Looking for a dark charcoal, not just a dark grey, but not straight black either. other than dark charcoal don’t know how to describe the color or shade I’m looking for. Karhedron
Halfords black primer might be worth a try. Although listed as "black", it is definitely a lighter shade than Chaos black or abaddon black. Sky Potato
If the colour you’re looking for is similar to Citadel Corvus Black, as opposed to Abaddon Black, then maybe give Raven Black by Colour Forge a try? Cleon
I use Colour forge Raven Black as my go to undercoat now. It's slighly more fragile to weather conditions than the citadel one in my experience, but certainly not a problem if basic temperature/humidity precautions are taken. I find it ever so slightly less black (more grey) than corvus, but still much blacker than Esshin grey - it's also slightly matter than chaos black. I'm not sure if it works exactly for what you want, but it sounds a good shout. Firedrake Cordova
I've not used it, but would Vallejo Hobby Paint Panzer Grey be a match? Inquisitor_Lensoven
The paint won’t be an undercoat, it will be just the color used. I've not tried the hobby paint, but assuming it's similar to Vallejo model color panzer grey, it's about as black as Esshin grey, but with a distinguishable blue tint.
