I just want Kelbor Hal to DO something. I like Sota Nul but the reconquest of Mars should have some proper interaction with THE Fabricator General. Man needs a character series book.

It's due out RIGHT after the Horus Primarch book..

Dint that get pushed back for Spears of the Emperor 2? Or was it Watchers of the Throne 3?

Right after Ynnari book 3... Or was it Masters of Shadow by T. Parrot?

They'll have Dark Hunters: Umbra Sumus on the preorder previews any Sunday now, and it'll finally free up their release queue. Any day now...

Have you ever tried to  cancel a print job on a printer after it's started? Clogs up the whole system. Once we get the dark hunters books it'll start printing out booms that we're waiting in the print queue for years.

Black legions 3, 4 and 5, the latest bequin Novel, all the Heresy Novels where the Emperor was the main character. They were all stuck in the queue.

An interesting rumour floating around the interwebs at the moment is that the Cavill 40K series will be set in The Scouring era.  Apparently they are using the Scouring logo on heir docs, although no confirming pictures or quotes are given.  So large salt intake required.

Having said that, what do we think of this setting choice if true?

I believe that one came from Valrak, I know he mentioned it a while back

I dunno about it. On one hand, its pretty wide open for what they could do, maybe not as much as 40k proper (i.e. no xenos ((probably))) but its less linear than something like the Heresy or Badab.

On the other, I cant see GW going all in on a Amazon series for it not to feature their flagship stuff like Primaris. And then honestly I dont know if it would have the mass appeal of space marines/humans vs tyranids/orks or something like that. Plus the whole fact that, at least in theory, half of the characters should be dealing with stuff from the Heresy, or at least mentioning it so for casual audiences it might be confusing

But who knows, seeing the Iron Cage would be cool if they do it

It shouldn’t preclude xenos as the lore states that it wasn’t just the heretic Astartes the Imperium was fighting/pushing back but various xenos taking advantage of the HH to encroach on Imperial assets.  Only T’au and Tyranids wouldn’t fit the timeline.

Agree that GW would want it to reflect the models they are currently selling rather than have to release a new range to take advantage of the show.  A Scouring setting ain’t no LOTR which brought its own fan base.

Think about the CGI savings from not having to do a Sanguinius

That would require the TV having to explain the backstop of the heresy before the show gets going. That seems a lot effort, especially when they could just do the heresy.

I was hoping The Scouring would be like the glory days of the HH when we had 4-5 releases per year, plus numerous shorts and audio dramas.

The lack of any announcement about book two, let alone a release date, is disappointing.   Hurry up BL.  Inertia kills the hype.

True but a lot of increasingly felt like padding. Battle for the Abyss and Damnation of Pythos were just filler. Imperium Secundus went on way too long. Some books that felt important went nowhere such as Mechanicum and Outcast Dead. Sometimes, less is more. I would rather the Scouring take its time and tell worthwhile stories.

I, also, would like good books that are good.

I would also like at least some idea of when we might expect another book and what it might possibly be about, who it might be written by - that sort of thing. Perhaps Ashes didn't meet sales targets and they're cancelling the series and putting all their authors in on Von Shard? Who knows!

Perhaps during an event dedicated to showing off Black Library related material

A gathering

A celebration you might say

Sarcasm aside, not too concerned about Scouring 2, its only been a month and a half since Ashes came out. Granted people saw it months prior due to leaks, but according to GW it released mid-December, so not that long ago

That being said if we dont see something by Marchish then I'll be a doomer as always
