At the moment my only interest in Grey knights is maybe to grab one more set of Terminators to round out my intended squads for future retro play use - as long as they are sticking with the one flat boring nemesis profile I have no interest in playing them - give me halberds, hammers and swords back and I'll look at the rest.

Stern being gone I can kind of understand - that model was from a long time ago, and Stern has been occupying a sort of odd design space challenge ever since... the 5th Ed. codex? That being,, how do you make him distinctive from any other Grand Master/Brother Captain. I think he got further edged out come 8th/9th and Grand Master Nemesis Dreadknights became a thing (which I've got a whole 'nother rant about from a thematic perspective, but I digress).

So, yeah - old, old model, redundant entry - writing was on the wall.

Especially because Draigo was a thing - a Terminator-armored, sword-wielding melee powerhouse that also provided utility to an attached unit and had a more recent, visually distinct model.

And there's no way they'd delete Draigo from the co- :teehee:

Looks like Banishers detachment will be the way to go. Ranged anti-armor is still an issue, although the GMNDK does a good job with the twin-linked multi-melta option. But the army can get lethal hits or sustained hits in melee against anything.

There's also a one CP stratagem that gives all ranged weapons shot by a unit anti-chaos 4+ against anything.

There's also an enhancement that gives a unit an extra -1 AP. So, if you need to do chip damage against a wounded monstrous creature, that's an easy way to bring it down.

Purifiers are better. The flame attack they get (I forget the name of it) gets -2 AP now.

And the last thing I recall, having skimmed a lot of the content, is that paladins on the charge get an extra +1 to Damage. So, they can go in and hit on 2+, get lethal or sustained hits, and do 3 damage each.

Armor won't be an issue for this army, but in most cases, they will have to close to melee.

Librarians are pretty good. Their psychic attack is D6+3 S8 -2 AP 2 Damage direct fire. They also get lone operative.

This is all I can think of for now.
