Not really, or rather only at combat Patrol size and once. At this level I found them ok, but it is based on a single game, so not that representative . And the opponent player had a poor yield with his admech patrol, so…

Otherwise I use them only as allies in Aeldari or most often in Drukhari forces. Mainly to get a Jester as a sniper… So minimum sized.

So what do people think about the new grotmas detachment that came up? looks like fun and pretty good to me but I have not tried it myself.

Also, if a new edition is coming soon, what do you think GW will do with harlequins? Still be part of aeldari or make us again a seperate army? Perhaps add some unit och character? What do you think or wish for?

I did not try and will not. Getting a bigger Harlie army is too risky business IMO: just a single Detachment allowing fielding it and the risk to see it disappear at next Ed is something that cool down seriously my will to go further. Even if that risk may eventually exist only in my mind. But generally speaking niches armies are from my experience rarely reliable on the medium term (Crafworld, eye of terror, inquisition... I have suffered it in the past already and I now have a post traumatic syndrom)

It still seems that Harlequins would be popular at a stand alone army but I think they hardest part about them is the painting. GW should really try to show more diffrent schemes so people don´t get to off put when it comes to the painting.

Allegedly there was a second wave of Harlequin stuff planned but the sales of the first wave were insufficient to justify further investment. As with all rumours, take with a pinch of salt but it seems plausible as AdMech came out around the same time and they did get 2 waves.

Wasn't there a rumor for Mimes and Master Mime for KT once?

That would be nice. Have they ever had official rules? I seem to recall them getting Citadel Journal rules in 2nd edition, but I don't know Rogue Trader and I haven't followed them super closely. I seem to recall mimes were an infiltration unit? Painting them black to take inspiration from the Koruko from Japanese Noh theatre would be so cool, they would be performers thematically like Harlequins, but they would be supposed to fade into the background? All headcanon since I don't remember the proper lore of the mimes, but I'd love to make that comparison.

Not a full army, but I'm painting some up for a slow grow at my local club. Apparently pure harlies have something like a 39% win rate, but again, data is biased as the best players pick the strongest armies.

They're fragile as hell, your core troop being 5w t3 4++, they put out a lot attacks, but you need them as you're generally fishing for Dev wounds. I think on average one Harlie does one wound to a marine in melee, so you're relying on troupe masters for their D2.

If you're open to a flying circus redux, like the old 4th ed, harlies popping out of a falcon in the new detachment seem ok, sustained 1 and full rerolls to wound with S3 means you should get a few 6s, however for 5 troupers, you're so looking at 5 Dev wounds and 5 normal wounds, so 3-4 dead meq, and the troupe master might do the same.
