Orange Knight
In my Horus Heresy army I have 10 converted Fulmentarus Terminators. I'm considering retiring them from my list completely because I just don't trust GW to support them with balanced rules going forward, or even guaranteed updates with each new edition... I have a few questions regarding the Saturnine Terminators. 1: What characters can join the unit? Can a Primarch? 2: Can they ride in a Spartan and how many spaces do they take? 3: What is their best equipment option? Is their melee viable? Thanks all! Shard of Magnus
1) They are infantry (heavy) so any characters (until one comes out with bitter duty?) or Primarch can join them. They are SLOW so keep that in mind. 2) Bulky (4) and can ride in a spartan or any heavy transport. 3) Haven’t played any games yet so I’d be speculating. Plasma is interesting. Disintigrators are higher risk/reward, and the flamers look great with deep strike or volley. They look…ok in melee? Decent strength, ap2, high damage but saturnine are ws4 with 2 attacks. Orange Knight
Bulky 4 is pretty crazy. I could only transport 5 and a Primarch in a Spartan.... hmm, I'll have to think about this. MagicHat
Saturnine command squad kitbash rules will be in the next journal, alongside a centurion. We know they can take the Praetor weapons and will presumably have higher WS/A. Shard of Magnus
True. I didn’t include them as the datasheet isn’t available. The 5” move and 3 Initiative of the unit has me concerned that it will be very hard to get the Saturnine into melee, although there may be other benefits with the command squad being a bigger threat for your opponent to avoid. Brother Kraskor
I'm thinking of running three with double disintegrators in a Land Raider. Rush up and disembark turn one, remain stationary for rest of game until they've killed everything within 24" (including themselves!).
